Nice that Prime as his faceplate in this version but bad random use of chrome.

Even with the needless chromev that seems to be an annoying trend with Hasbro's collector-aimed stuff, that Optimus' deco is much better then the normal release.

    Was just gonna post this!

I was hoping this set had the screen-accurate deco of the prime mould, but apparently not.

Would've made sense really to put the faceplate on one real ease and keep the G1 colours but give one the movie deco and leave the faceplate off. Might encourage people to spend their money. But hey, what do I know? lol

Ooohhh, I actually really like this set. May save me some hunting for them individually and just snag this from wherever it's released.
Speaking of which, is this TrU, Amazon, BBTS...?

Also, Grimlock looks like a happy puppy.

Don't get me wrong I like the face mask on Prime but I don't really see enough change between these and the regular releases to warrant a Platinum label. I'll probably just pick up the individual voyagers during the release day haul.

Now a Platinum set of all five AOE Dinobots in G1 colors, now that I could get behind :D

Alas, it will probably cost $20-30 more than just buying the two Voyagers separately.

Not sure where it's gonna be released - I saw the USC on the Colombian Transformers Facebook page which I've been checking as they seem to keep getting loads of official toy pics.

Seriously, Hasbro? No movie-accurate colors? Platinum is for collectors, slapping chrome on doesn't please us.

Here I was expecting them to do a more movie accurate version of Optimus. Of all the versions Hasbro is making, they can't include a movie accurate version of Optimus or Grimlock? I do like the head with the face plate, so that is a nice touch.

    Hasbro.

    Listen guys.

I know you have good intentions, but slathering chrome on figures in random places is not gonna make collectors happy. Seriously, this is like Henkei all over again.

(Although I do appreciate that Prime's crotch is chromed.)

    Bite my shiny metal c***!

Barring the faceplate, I kinda prefer the mass release of Prime. Either one will require painting over (seriously, what they have on the mass release box art is ideal, why they didn't go with that coloration is beyond me). About the only parts that would benefit from chrome would be the bumper, grill and cannisters (having a brain fart and can't remember the proper term), none of which are chromed. Anyway, probably just going to go with mass release and try and figure out a way to faceplate him.

If you look carefully, the grill is outlined in chrome, which is...a really strange design decision, given there's no real reason to chrome something like the arms by comparison. But yeah, agree on that.

    Much shine. Such random. Wow.
Also, this. I might get this for the faceplate on Prime, though. Then again, I don't want voyager Grimmy.
