"I misspoke in my last interview when I said that Transformers 4 was not a kids movie…what I meant was that this film, will in fact expand their target audience and bring in a bigger fan base. Following the huge success of Transformers and their toy line, it is certainly a kids movie and with the addition of Mark Wahlberg, Transformers 4 will be the coolest in the franchise."

Dude needs to really watch his words. When I think "kids movie" I think a movie aimed almost directly at children. He's saying it's not, that it's aimed at more ages... but is still a kids movie.

I think what he's trying to say is "it's not kiddie or directed exclusively at little children" which, honestly, was clearer the FIRST time he said it. This just makes it more confusing.

Is there any reason to think that it would be any different than the other 3?

I never considered the other movies kid's movies, either. I mean, there's some harsh violence and "adult" aspects. DOTM even moreso.

That statement brought to you by the good people at Paramount.

Jeez. Who is this guy that he clearly can't stand by a statement he made? Then again, with the kind of money Bay has, Mr. Welliver was probably leaned on by a couple of greasy fat guys in sharkskin suits.

    Transparent.

    Sounds like a nice porno.

This really isn't THAT odd. Actors, Actresses, people of the business going back on their word is not surprising.

What a complete tool. Its no longer even funny what he's doing - he's just promoting the film - which means his character Savoy (leader of the team of agents hired by Attinger) is likely one of the main characters in a similar way to Agents Simmons in TF;ROTF or TF;DOTM.

Then why didn't you explain at the time?

Their is no possibly way that anyone can determine if it will expand their target audience before the film is released - that is only something you can know after the movie. You can also not tell the fan reaction before the movie is out.

Actually the toy lines have been up and down recently - hence why the toy line has changed massively for TF;AOE to be targeted at children in one version and have the generations line targeted at adults.

Yeah... never use 'coolest' when your advertising a film - its obviously just further proof that your just trying to promote the movie and will say whatever hypes the fan base. As for it being a kids movie... given its a PG-13 film at the lowest, its actually targeted at teenagers.

The rating PG-13 means that you need parental guidance if you are younger than a teenager - meaning its primarily aimed at teenagers (With anyone younger being forced to bring family members - thus heightening the earnings)
