I never thought it was a Reboot - there's never been any suggestion it was.

The only thing that might make people think that is the absence of Sam and the slight change in appearance of Optimus and Bumblebee.

That most if not all of the Decepticons seem to still be dead sort of gives the game away a bit too.

Heck one of the biggest questions of this movie is aside from a truck and some cars possibly being Decepticons/Stunticons - we know precious little about the Decepticons in Movie 4 (not that I expect them to be the focus even if they are in it).

I bet Bay wishes he'd had enough common sense to not kill all his villains off now.

Every time they give some kind of update the movie kinda sounds like it's going to suck. It's like they have no confidence in them selves .

How long have they been saying, "It's not a reboot, it's not a reboot!" to the press? About a year now, right? Besides, three years just to restart the whole franchise? You gotta wait at least a decade by my book to do that.

I've seen a lot of websites still refer to it as a reboot because its got a new human cast and Optimus has a new vehicle mode. I'm glad they are constantly making that fact clear, It seems reboots are starting to get on the nerve of audiences and the Amazing Spider-man proved even 10 years may just not be enough to start from the beginning again, so it's important to remind everyone this isn't the same case.

Anyone who still thinks it's a reboot just need to look at all the 'Remember Chicago' posters that were filmed on set. Think that that's evidence enough to dispel anyone's concern about whether it was a reboot or not.

Yes that is a good point his comments is probably addressed at the ignorant Movie press not Transformers fans (or even comic fans).

And I can see how those not inside the tent would be confused by Optimus and Bee looking different and the different Human Cast (Mark Walberg - "Really").

I hope they direct Optimus' Dialogue better this time - his delivery is so flat and bland in the other movies he almost puts you to sleep. Not that his dignity may remain intact after he's seen riding around on a robot dinosaur.

Sounds like they're doing what GI Joe Retaliation did...a soft reboot. A continuation from the previous movie/s, but going differently with a different cast.
