I got Cullen's autograph in Botcon 2009 and thank god I did, I was thinking of going to Texas but I might just stick to Botcon

AND I am flying in all the way from the UK, I would have loved to meet Cullen again though

TCC had this 2014 show in the works since mid summer right after 2013 show several months before ACCC, but people will want to talk and create feuds and other craziness, and as I said earlier lower cost tables for dealers work in favor for the fans to get better deals as the price of items is not jacked sky high as by large cons with insane booth prices hence crazy prices for collectables, I also prefer to stand in a short line 20-40 min (as I am a disabled with a jacked knee and back) and not no 3-6 hours in line....

if u ask me this show is not intentionaly tring to compete with other cons, it has been standing on its own for several years and provides a good show at a good price, as for guest if they cancel for a high paying con/show and had a signed contract with another show hey goes to show what they care about......if I could afford BOTCON I would go every year and as it is all and only about Transformers, but I cant afford it cash wise and same for WW and ACCC prices for collectables are higher than ebay

    2 more cent

Cullen or no Cullen, I'm still going to BotCon. There's still tons of Transformers to buy and panel to see. Not to mention there's no other con which has a party on Saturday night at Paramount studios.

Wow, I have never made it to such a large Con anywhere, but I would really like to try to make it to this one! Talk about the perfect gathering for the 30th anniversary!

BotCon's only done that once.... No reason to expect it again in 2014.

If it happens again, great, but there's not a lot of precedent to expect it....

Wishing I could head to Texas for this one. For what may be a regional Con, seems like a decent showing. :thumb

Interesting that guests you'd expect to see at Botcon will be at this other con. But in the end, I will skip Botcon to attend both TFCons this year. They're much better organizers than Fun Pub in my experience.

Would he be that unprofessional? (Unless he booked earlier in the year, TCC delayed announcing til the BC announcement, & FP delays as much w/ their star-bookings as they do their location bookings - wouldn't surprise me)

I can easily see a one-day for each. Friday night @ TCC; Sat night & some time on Sunday @ BC, since it's near LA, where he works.

True, although even the following movie-year, we still got some intro by Bay, and a sneak-peek.
Word to FP/Paramount: If you have goodie bags do NOT put peanut M&Ms in them.

Am I the only one who couldn't care less who the guests are at a show like this? I can't think of a single VA/actor/artist/whatever that would be a draw for me. Sitting through a Q/A session with these people sounds like a punishment, not a fun time.

Toys, cost, location, and size of the con are my deciding factors.

It'd be a big bummer if TCC rolled all this out for Cullen and he just cancelled. Additionally, in the interviews from Botcon and SDCC, that I've seen, he doesn't strike me as the guy who would do that, unless he was contractually obligated too or he had no other choice. He seems like a genuine professional who has always appreciated encouragement from fans.

Although I've only attended one Botcon / Funpub event, I was really disappointed with how late they announced their guest lineup. For a convention that is trying to draw a crowd from around the country, I don't think they do a great job of trying to drum up excitement very early on to spur on early ticket sales. It seem like the mindset is 'people are going to come, so its not important to announce our guest list till later' which only works to a certain extent (only when you have such devoted consumers who will buy your product no matter what your offering them). It doesn't help grow your audience past those who are already devoted. For the consumer who is on the line, and trying to make a decision over which convention in the country to attend, I would imagine that the 'on the fence consumer' would more often pick the one that that he actually knows something about more often than he would with a convention that does not have information available about the event, schedule, or guest list.

Good for you! To each his own! I'm in the dallas area, and the local Dallas Comic show has really beefed up the media guest list, and with only a few exceptions, I could care less. The Comic book artists / writers are usually what draw me to a show.

But if you get a show full of Transformers Artists, Writers, Actors...well, thats a different story. I'd be very interested.

Why not? I mean, I'm all for protecting against peanut allergy incidents, but so long as there are other options available, and a fair warning that peanut M&M boxes are out there (I'm not suggesting either were done last time, although I'm conceding they should have been), how would including them be any different than the realities that peanut-allergic folks already have to deal with simply by living in a world where peanut-laden candies not only exist, but are extremely popular?

And as a promoter myself I do everything to keep my word on what and who will be at my shows. It's sad that he would burn ppl like that hopefully if Cullen doesn't make it the ppl who have paid up front will get a refund
