Ah, so Windblade will be the third ongoing?

So Mairghread Scott is writing the Windblade issue? Interesting...

Thank almighty Christ Furman's not writing it.

I doubt it. Seems odd for one character to get her own ongoing. I imagine it is a miniseries introducing her to the IDW-verse and then will incorporate her into the mainstream comics.

Something about her look seems familiar... The G1 episode Face of Nijika comes to mind.

Welp, there's my brain fart for the day. Of course it's a miniseries. :dunce

But yes, I actually thought about that Face of Nijika connection a few weeks ago. I wonder if maybe SHE's connected to the Quintessons somehow.

Well, looks like Starscream survives Dark Cybertron, which I actually didn't expect. Not sure how I feel about Windblade being pushed so hard, or M. Scott writing for the main IDW continuity, but I guess we'll see how it turns out.

I actually think it's a good thing. Scott seems to actually give a shit about female characters, and hopefully will not crowbar in a horrendous, forced origin for her.

Hmm... it appears that we might have a name for the post-Dark Cybertron status quo as well. "Dawn of the Auto Ots?" (now, is there a "b" missing from there or not?)

    She doesn't give a shit.

She'll transform the franchise if that's what it takes to have the fembots be integral. Plus, she does interesting stuff in BH.

I still don't get way fembots needed to be explained in the first place.

I'd say she does, though, given some of her past comments.

While the fembots' portrayal in ROTD/BH was by no means mindblowing, at least they were just "there"; a normal thing, without any kind of awful origin to them.

Also, looks like a return to Earth is imminent. It's right there on the cover.

Heeeeeell yeah. Screw explaining fembots! Just have them there! There are robot bats, birds, squids, and dogs! That's not explained, neither should fembots.

The way I meant it was that her care and love for the fembots runs far deeper than just 'giving a shit'.

I think we should start calling her Solus, since she's trying to bring back the fembots in roles other than just being there.

This is an IDW-created character, she will get a big push. Drift was also an IDW-created character too, and he got a lot of initial attention, including that miniseries to explain his origins. I would expect the same treatment for Windblade.

Not shocked about Starscream surviving, it will make a better story how his continued existence is handled, how others will perceive him, how he must cope with his constant bad decision-making. If he dies, that's it, shows over for him. The dead don't tell tales.

That, and he just got a new look, they wouldn't off him that quickly.

Or they're going to just blow it up. Which would be all sorts of crazy.

I'm not so sure. One half looks Earth-ish and one half looks Cybertron-ish. It's weird.

    Wonder what McCarthy's working on...

I thought that was just symbolic for action in the issue taking place on both Cybertron and Earth, but I guess there is the chance it could be literal.
