Optimus looks kinda Powermaster-like, which is decent. Megatron looks alright in robot mode, especially since the long sword can store in his hip sheath and give him the waist gun like g1 Megs, but I'd rather see a unique voyager tank Megatron.

Both = awful and do not remotely work together as a set due to the drastic aesthetic differences. That said, I'm liking this step towards a more G1ified tank mode Megatron.

I really really really like that Prime deco, tempted to swap out my old Classics Voyager. Megatron, on the other hand, looks terrible. Is there ANY deco that can make that mold look NOT Bayverse?!?!?!?

That Prime deco is the best! That black wind vane seems to be a callback to the sound box from G2, but I'll still swap it with my Classics original.

I will prefer the head mold of United series Tank Megatron, rather than this head mold.

I love the Classics Optimus mold despite its datedness and its flaws this repaint looks awesome. But would it have killed to make it worth the money by adding some improvements to it (like ankle pivots, making it about an cm taller and having the arm door/wings connect closer to the arms and fold up the window parts for a much better silhouette)?

This is a collaboration between eHOBBY and TakaraTomy Mall, so it was probably at the requests of those shops and not TakaraTomy's desire to do so.

Short answer no. and the same goes with nearly every movie mold that is voyager or larger, some of the deluxes and scouts you can work with to an extent.

Even though is at the request of those shops, whether is a Yes or No to reissue, the final decision still lies in TakaraTomy. Since TakaraTomy has say Yes to reissue, isn't it as good as they are fully utilising the mold.

I know, it was more of a rhetorical question since they seem hell-bent on releasing those things as "Classics" figs.

So basically you're saying, Takara Tomy should flat out say no to the stores ordering from them because some fans are complaining that the mold is being overused?

I meant is TakaraTomy will look at business point of view before reissuing a figure, they will not want to lose money in the end, moreover the mold is there, might as well fully utilised it. Henkei Optimus Prime has been reissued once few years ago,am no surprise that TakaraTomy do it again this time round.

What are you talking about? Hasbro and Takara have each had 3 uses of the mold. Each one released Optimus, Ultra Magnus and a Nemesis Prime/Black Optimus Prime. Hasbro did theirs fairly close together. I guess you could count the asia exclusive two pack for Optimus and Ultra Magnus as a Hasbro release but that was just a release of the molds in a different market. Takara's were a lot more spaced. For the longest time they only had Henkei Prime. Recently they released their Ultra Magnus and then Black Optimus Prime was a Tokyo Toy Show exclusive.

It's not like every two years they release the mold again in a slightly different deco at normal retail. Your talking about several of the releases being region exclusive or some sort of convention exclusive.
