I admit, the Predacons actually don't look that bad. Smokescreen is a bit worse, and Bumblebee just looks... dire.

I'm dreading the reveal of the TF4 toys because of these; I have a bad feeling that this is what we can expect those Deluxes to end up looking like.

I love how they present '4-5 STEPS YEAH!!!' like they're proud of it.

If the Abominus guys combine, I may go after them.

I doubt they'll be this bad. Although this is Hasbro's way of lowering our expectations.

As a parent I would appreciate a similar Transformer for kids. Not all kids want a complex puzzle to play with. These are ACTION figures. It's hard to have action when you spend 5-10 minutes transforming when you're playing out a story in your head.

I don't get it almost all of us grew up with simple Transformers, we enjoyed them so much that we still enjoy them today. As adults we enjoy the complex transformations, but I've heard a lot of complaints from parents saying their kids get frustrated with the Transformers.

I wonder if our 5-8 year old selves would have enjoyed the complex transformations we have today. I get frustrated enough with some of these figures not lining up easily, to the point I leave them in one mode. That isn't what these were designed for.

I hope "deluxes" are taking on a new meaning at a new price point. I don't necessarily care about complex transformations, but more articulation isn't going to dumbfound kids. I remember being 5 years old and wishing He-Man was as posable as GI Joe and got annoyed when some of the other transformers only had elbow joints and no shoulder joints.

Well, maybe Hasbro will actually learn just how many transformers are bought by collectors.

The issue is that they could, you know, pass the savings onto the consumer. This saves a buttload on plastic, designing, and manufacturing costs. Yet it's priced the same as a regular Deluxe. Plus, I think it's underestimating kids. I don't think any kid is going to be confused by a figure having elbows.

Hell, at the bigger size they could've made Smokescreen look less... weirdly spindly. Something.

It's worrisome. We know for a fact Hasbro's willing to skimp on incredibly toyetic properties (coughIronMan3cough) now, so... worrisome.

The weapons look somewhat decent, but figures are still oversize KO-looking pieces of crap.

I was building complex model kits with glue and paint when I was 6-10, no joke. I'm absolutely certain I would've enjoyed the more complex transformers of today. :lol
