I sense a disturbance in my wallet. Summer of 2014 is looking to be a very expensive time for me.

What I find odd is the Voyager toy for Drift. I assumed this character would have one of the sports cars as his alternate mode. Was anyone else a bit curious about that?

BTW guys, I don't blame anyone who's confused by Hasbro's weird marketing, but the numbered "Thrilling 30" are not the same as "Platinum Edition."

Leader Jetfire and Leader Megatron probably can't be "Platinum Edition." Why? Because Platinum Edition toys do not have size classes. They also are NOT designated as "Generations."

Now, Generations Leader Class toys may or may not be part of the numbered 30. The numbered 30 are not a product line, it is a cross-product line promotion. But if the listing is not false and they are Generations Leader Class toys, then they probably can't be five year old molds.

Now they could be movie toys, but this hypothesis fails to explain the fact that Optimus and Grimlock are designated Generations Movie 4 toys, as opposed to Generations 30 toys. Also, Jetfire and Megatron are dead, and I'm willing to bet that only one of them gets a shot at coming back to life for the second time. I will literally bet you money that Hasbro will not release a movie tie-in Leader class figure that is not a character that appears in the film.

Combine this with the oddity that the official reveal of movie 4 Leader Optimus Prime is designated "Generations" and here is my new hypothesis.

-In order to capitalize on retailer and collector satisfaction with the "Generations" umbrella brand, in addition to similar collector interest in the "Leader Class" that does NOT extend to the "Ultimate" or "Weaponizer" classes (since they are less complex), all Leaders are being rolled into Generations, whether they are movie or not. We saw "Fall of Cybertron" and "Thrilling 30" Voyagers sharing assortments recently: this would allow mixing-and-matching of the Leaders as well.
Meanwhile, AoE gets a line with Deluxes and Voyagers that can be "simple" or "gimmicky" by comparison with the collector-targeted Generations Deluxes, Voyagers, and Leaders. It can have an Ultimate-type flagship like the last three movie lines...maybe a Titan.

For Deluxe, Chromia seems like she'd be a repaint of Arcee (w/ new head, naturally)... Hardhead may be a Warpath repaint as a similar head sculpt was shown on the Warpath instructions... Crosscut'll be a Skids repaint... In Legends, Gears will likely be a Swerve repaint, and Cliffjumper a Bee repaint as usual.

And Leader Jetfire might just be a repaint of the ROTF Leader figure, but Anguirus makes great points with the listings & all.

Those are the likeliest ones off the top of my head.

BTW I've been wondering WHY you'd make a new-mold Leader Jetfire and it hit me like a ton of rocks. It will interact with Legends-class figures.

I'm hoping the unnamed tank is another Deluxe Decepticon. My Autobot shelf will be extremely full if these updates are to be taken at face value

Whatever happens, it's hard to be disappointed, this was a bolt of lightning from nowhere. I already have Classics Jetfire and Megatrons aplenty. I have a lot of the dudes who should be Megatron-sized in the DELUXE class. These would be the epitome of nice-not-necessary for me.

Except all the TF4 Leaders, Voyagers and Deluxes are prefixed 'TRA MV4 GEN'. The entire non-gimmick focused TF4 line is part of Generations.

I think probably what's happening is that Hasbro is going to use "Generations" as a cross franchise indentifier for a type of toyline - like "Cyberverse". The line of TF4 standard transforming figures is Generations, the TF4 line of miniature toys is Cyberverse, the TF4 line of, uh, jousting figures is Jousters, etc.

I'd put money on the next TF cartoon also having a Generations line, a Cyberverse line, and so on and so forth.

The news post blurred things by taking off the line names and cobining them. Look at my first post, there's a line of Generations and a line for Age of extinction. They're two separate things.

Yo what if the Leader Megatron is BW Megs, I mean weren't there rumors they canned that Grimlock remold in favor of a new mold since he won the hall of fame thing?

Ah, I think you are exactly right! Somehow I got to thinking that only the Leaders had the Generations prefix. I hadn't looked at the pictures since this morning.

EDIT annnnnnd THAT'S why it's a good thing I stopped being a Generations completist. :lol

I've actually been saying this for months, yeah, I think you are bang-on.

As I posted previously, this list broke some major TF4 spoilers- specifically the Galvatron one and it's not even a place holder-

Disagree. This is awesome. We don't need to see the toys to know they will be great. I mean, most people buy toys or products without seeing it first, and go on name only.

Hasbro just keeps answering the 3rd Parties.

Guys... Keep in mind that there are tons of other Japanese releases. Most of Alternity is listed. Don't get your hopes up too much... Those listings are likely just the Japanese ones.

My voice would join yours. The two of us will be the only voices to be heard from space. Yeah that's right, my scream of joy would be so loud it would extend to places where there is no sound.
