"El Tiempo" is a Colombian newspaper which from time to time releases collector sets (mostly cars and airplanes) so imagine my surprise when I found out their newest collection is a Transformers Prime Toyline!

I'll let them speak for themselves:

Coleccin de EL TIEMPO de 'Transformers' - Gente: ltimas Noticias de Famosos Colombianos e Internacionales - ELTIEMPO.COM

TRANSFORMERS PRIME Colecciones EL TIEMPO: Adquiere tu coleccion

I suppose the books must be reprints, but the figures come as a surprise to me, they are inarticulated and are roughly 8cm tall (varies with each character).

Ultimately this is rather pointless, but it's a fun piece of trivia, and it would be sad for it to be lost to time.

So watcha think? Anybody wants to pre-order them? :p

I think the highlight of the article is "Colombian newspaper El Tiempo is known for periodically releasing special collector sets." That is one COOL newspaper!

I would guess they are quite small - but if they are that's not a bad thing you can display them with Unicron then.

They look like something I'd like I'm still kicking myself for failing to get the Mexican Dumptruck Demolishor and the Boss Coffee PVC and even the Kinder Surprise Animated toys.
And I was happy I got at least some of the overscale Legion fast food toys.

If anyone is thinking of helping out foreign fans get these please count me in.

This whole set was sold in Peru in "EL Comercio" several months ago.

I asked here in the forums if there was something similar in USA.

Anyone knows anything about this mini-figures?

You could buy the tin first and it's awesome. The figures are not so great as they look in the pictures since they are simple and have almost no paint. The books are great quality and have episodes from the series.

    Yeah I guess.

That's very interesting, thanks for the info.
Any clue where the figures are from?

They sold these in Costa Rica too, by La Nacion.
And yes, they are around 3" - 3.5". Nice tin, figures... so so...

It's good to know they are spreading across multiple nations they may show up in other places too perhaps.

Nice to know they are a decent size - Not that i'd have minded if they were only 1"

TO be honest, the tin can is the only worth. The figures are too simple.

I'd still very much to get one, as 'kooky' as the set may be.
My Spanish is poor, and I would love the idea of practicing with the books.
If there is anyone reading this thread who has access to the set (especially with the books), I'm happy to pay you for your effort and pay for a second copy for yourself. Please PM if you can help!

Maybe I'm just anal but I expect non transforming Transformers to be completely show/movie accuarate. I hate those big hunks of plastic that look like Prime Optimus and Bumblebee. These are at least way better than those.
