No, no it is not. Not when ROTF Megs exists.

The kibble armour is quite obviously meant to evoke armour he'll likely have in the movie, judging by the "skirt" piece in front. And really, hip and shoulder kibble aside, what's he really got? Wheels on his legs and back. Hardly the worst kibble ever. Last I checked pretty much Every Transformer ever has something on it's back.

Or maybe he just has his wheels on his back in the movie.

    THIS is Leader Scale?!?

The ROTF Voyager Optimus was less of a backpack/shellformer than this... Seriously, the whole chest is fake, panels hanging on his shoulder and hips...

If a Leader has such a primitive transformation... I dread to imagine what the Deluxes will be like. Maybe the upsized BH legion deluxes are the new etalon?

Also, at Leader size class, having fake chest windows is inexcusable. DoTM was simplified already, but compare this guy and DoTM Leader Sentinel Prime!

I love how people just assume the movie design will have no kibble, and any visible truck parts on the toy shouldn't be there.

I mean granted it's not the best toy ever, but people are tearing it apart like it's the worst toy ever made when it's really not. It looks posbable, not bogged down with gimmicks, has cool weapons, and an incredible truck mode. How does that equal the worst movie leader ever when both megatron's turn into... I don't know what, and still can't manage decent arm articulation despite not needing to have an intricate, deliberate transformation as part of a real world vehicle.

How can you possibly tell what parts are supposed to make the chest? Or that those panels aren't supposed to be on his hips and shoulders?

You people have no idea what the actual design will look like, yet you're claiming inaccuracies?

whoever designed this should be fired.

whoever approved this should be fired.

whoever suggested a simplified movie design should be fired.

if a LEADER class toy is going to be this simple and this horrible looking.. i have a feeling the rest of the line is just going to look like upscaled cyberverse figures.. or even more simple than that..

HELL.. WHY EVEN MAKE THEM TRANSFORM HASBRO?? .. just release a bunch of hot wheels type cars.. and a few more of those non transforming crappy figures .. like the TFP prime's and bumblebee's that just sit on the shelf looking cheap and stupid.

    THANK TAKARA FOR MASTERPIECE FIGURES.

Just want the best of each on-screen character in my collection, so I can pass on this thing. Not paying $45 for this. I just hope the deluxes aren't upscaled Legend class figures like next year's Prime toys. Really gonna save a load of cash next year.

May be good for kids, but as an adult collector, I am more then willing to pay for a complex figure. The size really doesn't factor into my purchasing decisions as much as the complexity and overall look. Paid a lot more for a lot less plastic both from Takara and 3rd Parties.

Holding out hope for this. Will wait for better photos from more angles. Could be OK. Will probably buy. Disapointed at the simplicity.

You might be right or you might be wrong the only way we will find out is when the official pictures of the cg models are released and when the movie comes out.
Also as a side note I looked closer the the myriad of pictures taken. From what I can derive from this is either this is going to be one of the smallest and disappointing leader class figures ever or someone at Hasbro messed up the listing.

ughh.. it's a prime.. NOT MEGATRON.. so it's going to be compared to the previous primes.. both of which were WAY better than this.

sure movie figures are going to have kibble.. but not the size of this kibble.. no leader figure just has big pieces of plastic just hanging out with no purpose.

you're right.. it's not bogged down with gimmicks.. it doesn't need the gimmicks to be bogged down, it does that well enough on its own.

you can't deny that this looks like a voyager figure compared to the other leader figures.

this is just horrible. leader prime should be one of the gems of a movie line. this however sucks. and if this is the gem of the line.. this is going to be one atrocity of a toy line.

Actually, looking at it again, I guess it's not too bad. It's not going to be one of my top priorities, but it looks like it manages some degree of complexity, although definitely not to the extent of ROTF. I'm cautiously optimistic.

    Leader class? That's a hoot.

    Wait, Generations?

If that's not trying to mislead retailers, I don't know what is. Why are they trying to piggyback a movie figure on the Classics multi-line's latest name, anyway?

But it is better than the combining-trailer dOTM Prime, that's for sure. :D  (Not like that's a big accomplishment).

Not sure how to feel about it...it looked great until I saw the tail end of the truck hanging off his back. Hasbro's answering one concern (fear of reduced posability/complexity a la the upscaled Beast Hunter Legends "Deluxes") while exacerbating another (budget issues/quest for simplicity in transformation leads to compromises I'm not thrilled with).

I just want to say, in this sea of negativity, that I think the figure looks awesome.

I'm glad we're getting a leader class figure that's not going to be insanely complex. Those aren't fun. ROTF Optimus? Not fun. DOTM Sentinel Prime? Not fun. They're both terrible toys, despite being cool "collector's things". I can't tell how this thing transforms, but I'm not seeing any reason to start yelling about how simple it is, as it doesn't look all that simplistic. It probably has a good flow to the transformation like the current Generations figures do.

It looks nice on picture! .....Now take away all the chrome, replace it with dull grey or brown and also take away half the paint apps and you get the end product... Not so fantastic any more.

The waist looks one solid piece, so articulation wise it will be limited.

Now why does hasbro wanna mess up the generations name with movie products? Do they thing it will sell better when a name with good connotation is placed on (lets face it) highy likely mediocre products?

Wow.... Don't take a look at photos of the back of this thing. It isn't pretty. That's just one solid kibble frame that goes most of the way down his legs. Yikes.

I pray this simple transformation thing passes quickly.
