Now that I've seen it, I don't feel as negative about it as I did, although I would still have preferred an additional (unreasonable, I know) chest remold to get rid of those obviously-Rumblish chest details. Still, if we have what we have, the paint hides that problem reasonably well. This certainly isn't one I'll be selling once I get it.
Yeah I'd been hoping Takara or Hasbro would've gotten to the mold first and remolded it for Eject/Rewind so Fun Pub would have the option of a more accurate chest that's less Frumblish if they ever took on one of the G1 Eject toy redecos. But yeah, for what we're getting, I like it.
Its a scout and Chromedome is a deluxe, medium sized deluxe. I would say Rewinds head will be at the lower chest of Chromedome.
Not sure how I feel about a reveal that is a digibash re-colour of an actual figure with a CAD head, but everyone definitely called it (I was still hoping for the Prime Rumble/Frenzy mold. I joined the club a couple days ago just so I'm ready when TFSS 2.0 goes live, also to order a Slipstream (who looks a lot better in hand) and Depthcharge. I still don't remember liking this mold for the short time I had Rumble/Frenzy before selling them, but I'm willing to give it another go. So far: TREADHSOT - meh SG PROWL, I mean... BARRICADE - hell yes. FISITRON - meh CHROMEDOME (head line art only) - yes. REWIND - you had me at Chromedome & Rewind So three reveals left? Rewind leaves two. One is going to be Chromedome. The last of the six ??? I also wonder how long the secret seventh will stay secret.
We did. United Rumble and Frenzy. They're still affordable on eBay last I checked. Just because Hasbro didn't do them doesn't mean they're not out in the world. That I would be down for! I would LOVE Rung from Animated Prowl. But they said no Animated molds, and i don't know who else to make him from... I'd like another be Fastlane from the car Vehicon. Then the 7th bonus one can be Cloudraker using Fastlane's head with the Jet Vehicon mold. That could drum up some subscriptions... Though it looks like they're going to keep the 7th a mystery until it ships. But if you see one of the clones, expect the other as the 7th...
That is the most heavily armed memory stick ever. Or, alternately, the tank with the best onboard media library ever.
We are getting a sweet-looking Skids and iffy-looking Whirl, Swerve and Tailgate. I would really like a new Samurai/Oni Cyclonus though, with hip plates and two usable hands. And we need a damned leader class MTMTE Ultra Magnus (bonus points for the cab being Ambus).
So aside from Rung and Brainstorm, we could officially have the main Lost Light crew by sometime next year.
Actually, Swerve looked great until MakeToys shows theirs. Tailgate is too modern car kibble for me. And honestly the Whirl looks great as a G1 update, just not as MTMTE Whirl.
To quote MTMTE: "PHHHFF" an official toy doesn't go from great to iffy just cause some 3rd party hacks continue their great tradition of announcing a figure another 3rd party group was already doing.
Yeah, I, um, hmm... I like the mold. I like that Chromedome can no longer give him crap about not turning into a super space tank. But do I want a third Rewind toy, the second at premium cost, no less? Good reveal, I'll ponder this one a while.
