I might have to jump at this Sub service now for this Rewind! I love his vehicle mode too! Without the gun turret he looks like a memory stick from his IDW design. Only thing that really bothers me...is this will be the official US release debut of this mold since RTS Rumble never was officially released in the states.
I guess because it reminds me that Rumble was never released here and had to opt for the United two pack. Also was looking forward to the repaints that would have accompanied him in that RTS wave if it had happened.
Eject and Rewind have never really been that close, despite sharing the same mold and both being Blaster's cassettes. They are both individuals seperate to each other, not brothers in arms.
In a global market where just about everything is available online I really just don't get all this "official US release debut of this mold" business. Especially since until recently the Takara (Tomy) were usually superior, albeit more expensive as well.
Well, considering that there are still a few that dont shop online and prefer domestic releases over importing. Most of the time I prefer domestic over import as well since its cheaper as well. I would have rather paid $7-9 if Rumble had been released in the US at that price, but instead I paid $55 for the United release. and yes I do know some who passed on this mold, just because it wasnt released in the US officially
If I didn't shop online I'd have nothing (I want), I'd also usually pay more. Voyagers are $24.99 everywhere around here, Deluxes $14.99-$16.99, Cyberverse $9.99... and that assumes you can even find what you want. Example: not a single TRU within 50 miles (there are only 6 of them!) EVER got a Soundwave... I didn't ask about Acid Storm as he was actually available online. Also, not buying something just because it wasn't released domestically seems so odd, but we collectors ALL have our own little idiosyncrasies...
Personally, if there is something I want coming out that's not getting released (or the possibility of not getting released in the US) I will import. But it wasnt a matter of not buying something only because it wasnt released in the US, just that it was too expensive to try to import and money is scarce at the time.
I will be passing on this, i actually want blasters crew. But i think the CHUG rumble and frenzy are pretty lame compared to the MP tapes. Back when they were first show, i actually did want them, but then the mp ones were shown and i just couldn't care less about them. It just seems inevitible to me that they will make mp blaster and his tapes like soundwave. So i'm waiting for that.... The whole sub is pass for me they havent made one figure i'm interested in thankfully. the first sub had breakdown, who i want.
Everyone's money is on Eject being the bonus seventh figure (since he'd very economically be identical to Rewind, bar changing one plastic colour), so you may well get your wish.
They so need to make an Ambulon figure - and they should make it without the rest of whatever he combines with to keep the irony...
lol, I just realized: Classics/Universe Blaster is a repaint of (Cybertron) Soundwave. Kind of fitting.
Thanks for posting the interview. These are the parts that jumped out at me the most. Firstly, for all we know, the 7th figure "goes perfectly" with the 6th figure, who we still know nothing about. This is really less of a clue than it might seem. He may be associated with this 5th figure they're going to reveal this week, that's got me pretty interested. (Making Chromedome #6, I guess, since he hasn't been officially added to the list yet.) Secondly, I'm stoked that figure reveals are not the only reveals pertaining to the subscription service. Excited to hear what they have in store. Thirdly, I've always been in favor of FunPub making boxes for the membership figures. I want a nice Botcon-style box for my Nexus Prime set, for sure, since they all go together. For the subscription figures, I guess I'd buy a box if they made one, but it's not as essential since the figures aren't necessarily associated with each other. Fourthly, I will dig having the option of boxing Transmutate and Rampage together. I didn't get that from what was said at all. Rewind is officially figure #4, isn't he? #5 is a known character who's never had a toy before, I think is what was implied, and #6 will end up being Chromedome, and #7 is the mystery incentive figure that's a re-use of one of the previous six molds. True, which is why I'm not thinking Eject is the 7th figure at all.
