You better tell someone to change the title. Not all people want to be spoiled like that.

Especially since OP is assuming quite a bit at this point. NOTHING we have seen definitely proves a return from anyone.

It does seem like the head is being kept for research on tech, exploited for its knowledge, or something along that lines.

Going by the previous plot rumors of humans trying to master Transformers tech, it makes sense.

Better Question: Since Megatron is dead, how can he become anyone else?

Why does the head have his post-ROTF damage, but not the giant axe hole in the center?

Yeah, but during the making of the Star Wars prequels they often had artifacts around from the Original Trilogy on set. For mood, for good luck or for "just 'cause"...

IMHO, this Megatron head being on set proves nothing. Besides, maybe in the new film, it literally is someone's trophy, a la Simmons having Frenzy's head in ROTF. Or maybe it's being studied by humans in order to better our understanding of technology (which does coincide with current plot rumors), but I fail to see how this one snapshot of a model head guarantees Megatron will return in tf4

I'm not surprised that he's back, but I'm very, very disappointed that he is. Whether he's alive or not, Megatron should be out of the picture completely. I mean he died in TF2007 then dies in DOTM. It's as if the writers said "Oh, wait, there's gonna be another Tf movie after all??? Welp, time to revive good old Megatron, despite taking an a fucking AX to the head and then preceding to be be-headed, complete with spine ripping out. Cuz, ya know, DOTM was TOTALLY it. Yeah, can't have a TF movie without Megatron!!!"

    Ugh :redface2:

Call it crying, but I've done my fair share in sticking up for the films for what they are. But this news right here, just straight disappoints me. It shows lack in writing variety and villians. I was fully expecting a new decepticon leader, but no, because we just can't have a TF film with Megatron not in it to show that there can be other main villians that can be a greater threat. Just watch. Megs will come back and, like always, there will be a bigger threat that he'll have to rely on to get sh*t done and to steal his thunder.

    Bay, writers. Prove. Me. Wrong.

Make megs the main big bad, if you HAVE to bring him back.

Been bugging me all day... even if the axe wound was "repaired", why wouldn't the phaser blast be as well?

I've said it before, I really don't mind Megatron coming back. I've actually WANTED him to come back, if I could be brutally honest. Not just to get a new toy or two out of it, just that Megatron would be shown that not even death can truly stop him. Especially after Optimus made the absolution that the only way the Decepticons would ever end their tyranny was by killing them, and now it appears that Megatron rendered that plan futile.

It'd give me chills if they played up the fact Megatron constantly defies death, that he never left at all, that he was always there...

But with it looking like they're tampering with his head, maybe something goes awry where he infects something, and that's how he comes back to life. Like the Allspark, his energy manifests itself in something, either a vehicle of some kind or a human-built Transformer. Or he infects some supercomputer (kinda like Beast Machines Megatron), taking over and constructing new drones as well as a new body.

I dunno, I'll just sit here and wait for the movie. It'll have the definitive answer to what happens.

I'm guessing he'll be back like bishop in "alien"; a talking head being kept alive by some sort of machine, probably by the humans.

That would explain the head as a 3D prop. I'd be down for this. Could be used as a plot point for why there are "evil humans" to begin with. Megatron is telling them what to do.

He's more unkillable than Michael Myers, Freddy Kruger and Jason Vorhees all put together.

You can keep a good con down. :lol

Well so much for Overlord or Tarn. :/

    Except Bay's franchise:

    A. Doesn't target kids, the core of the brand.
    B. Kills any current show and lines when movie-time rolls back around.
    C. Makes the brand look dumber and less mature than it actually is.

Sure, it brings attention to the brand and put it in theaters, but the same can be said about the terrible Resident Evil movies. And don't say it directly puts money into the toys, because that's just false.
