Salaries and budgets are a consideration for all operations, even 3rd parties. Fansproject, MMC, and the rest have employees and budget considerations. Licensing is the only added expense that I see the club having, but surely that must be more than covered by the membership fees and proceeds from Botcon.

Without knowing more about the R&D and production costs of 3P items, it's hard to make a comparison. Many of them do it as a side-project to full-time jobs, etc, and they don't have to go through complex approval processes to meet toy safety standards, and the like. The club have said in the past that a lot of cost goes into the remoulds they do (the cost of Punch/Counterpunch's head meant they couldn't do anything about the fists being the 'wrong' way around in one robot mode), so I expect that the time and cost involved would be prohibitive (as Pete and Brian have said in the past, on numerous occasions, and they're better qualified to know that than most).

Size/cost - this is a Deluxe whereas BH Megs is a Voyager.

transmutate look pretty cool, but i learn my lesson from BH Arcee... i'm not getting my hopes up that much.. (but again TFCC did a good job with Slipstream). i'm might get her, to send hasbro a message that i want more BW figures (Airazor and Blackarachnia)..

edit: i wonder how much its going to cost? Slipstream set me back around 400 bucks (local currency)..

Wow! Surprisingly good! I actually like the Prime aesthetic for the Pre-Earth modes of the Beast Wars characters (where it makes sense) more than some of the classics/cybertron molds. I might have to get these....without giving the club my money. I really gave them a chance (member from the very beginning till this past March) but I have to admit I am among the growing number of people who do not trust them. Sorry, back to topic, these are definitely some of the best redecos I have seen from them.

    Protoform X is aces.
I'm having a hard time seeing Transmutate though.
    All I see is Arcee.

How many employees could the club possibly need? Three? I can't imagine they need more than that at any time other than convention time. Anything more than that is overkill and probably the reason why they can't afford simple things like remolding Punch/Counterpunch's hands.

This is all beside the point, anyway. If it isn't cost effective for them to make new figures, then we need a club that can. All a 3rd party club would need to do is act as a distributor, which shouldn't cause prices to be any higher than they are at places like Captured Prey, BBTS, etc. for regular 3rd party product. It all comes back to my initial point. I think Fansproject tried this with Fansprojectcore, but it was poorly managed.

I could quite frankly care less about Transmutate, but, that Rampage is gorgeous. Until now, I really doubted the FE Megatron mold as a Cybertronian Rampage. And I love that head sculpt...

Rampage looks ok but I have zero need to own it - not that I will ever give the club another dime.

    Transmutate is just plain boring.

Revisiting the Botcon Beast Wars box set to add more pre-beast vehicle modes... for the win! Nice ideas, and Rampage looks really pretty in execution. Colors pop on that mold.

I think TFCC acknowledging earlier sets helps keep their value for collectors. (or even climb more.) I have to give them props for this. Plus it's fun to revisit those storylines.

Nice to see some drastic color changes for these molds. I think it's always a good bang-for-the-buck when we can get that. (Sometimes when there are solid ideas for characters but in similar color schemes as the original, I think it leaves the fans wanting more. Deathsaurus was one of those. Great idea, sculpt, mold choice, etc. But was similar enough to the original that it didn't have as dramatic a reveal.)

Looking forward to more. Thanks for posting Pete!

On the one hand, I think this is an excellent redeco of the Megatron figure.

But... I don't like how the molds mismatch with Depthcharge. I like all families of molds, but the thing I liked least about the Botcon set was the haphazard nature of the set.

On the plus side, I'd go for a proper Black Arachnia redeco of Airachnid.

It's not a "tired and worn out excuse".

Third parties don't have to pay Hasbro licensing fees for the characters and molds (not to mention any costs from registering names Hasbro doesn't already have at the ready, like Transmutate), and don't have to use Hasbro's factories. So of course they can make things cheaper.

Here's another connection of Transmutate and Arcee (both were voiced by Susan Blu) though the Arcee they're using is voiced by Sumalee Montano. :p

I have to say that despite my hatred for Transmutate, It works well out of the mold and i want to get one.
