This is interesting. Hopefully we'll see some of the old characters from Prime return for the new series.

So something more family friendly, simpler designs, and possibly a sequel to Prime?

    I wouldn't mind it.

not much to go on here. Sounds like it's the same creative team, for better or worse.

'Family friendly' isn't necessarily a bad thing. They'll probably have a new look and brighter colours.

A reminder to people that "toning it down" probably just means "less wanton killing of guys all over the place."

As let's face it, Prime had quite the body count.

And if the current people are doing the show still, cool. They found their footing by the end of the series in terms of balancing plot/action (it took too long, but still) and producers like Orci/Kurtzman have good connections for getting guest voices.

And if it's being toned down, the violence/fight scenes can't be as much of a crutch for the writers, that said. Rescue Bots S1 was consistently a better series than Prime S1 on account of it having better writing, despite the target demographic/audience being different.

All the rumors we've heard sound like the same guidelines Animated operated under. And as long as we don't have Man of Action running the series, we should be good.

im all for this but the things that made Prime so great for me was its dark and intense moments now i have been proven wrong when new shows are promoted as being more family friendly and stuff and in the end ive enjoyed them (IE rescue bots) but if this IS supposedly a continuation of prime im just not sure how this will work but nonetheless im keeping an opened mind.

Thanks for sharing, some of our answers have been answered, which is good news.

This "toned down" series, don't know, I'm going to keep an open mind, on this one.

I'm really going to miss the CGI in TFP.

Hopefully this means it'll be more "fun" and less "LOOK HOW HARDCORE WE ARE! GRIMDARKNESS AND SHOCK DEATHS OMG!"

I really hope the tone is lighter so we can have some fucking PERSONALITY in this show.

    :lolol

What do you know, the Prime creators DO have a sense of humour!

I hope by kid friendly they don't mean out of proportion TFA style crap. at least SOME of the prime figures were relatively proportionate and oculd fit in with a normal classics/generations collection.

A nice middle ground between the 'scariness' (to little ones) of Prime with the more light tone of Animated would be preferred. Just please for the love of God DO NOT do it in the animation style of Rescue Bots. I hate Flash Animated cartoons as a general rule and although R.B.'s works for its core audience the new iteration of Prime needs to strike a balance both in tone and style. It's not full kiddy but according to Orci isn't full adult themes either.

As others of similar mind seem to be echoing, few have a problem with this. It's the idea that it might go fully kiddy that scares me most at this point. Until I see planned animation, character designs, etc., I'll reserve judgement, but I'm carefully skeptical for now.

I'm glad they'll be doing a toned down show.

"GUIZ WE KILLED ANOTHER DECEPTICON. WE'RE SO DAAAAAAAAAARK" (chugs a Mike's Hard Lemonade)

I hope the 2d means we get MORE characters. Sticking with the same 12 people is kinda boring.

As long as Arcee and Wheeljack come back, I'm in.

I think he is speaking in terms of writing for the show, not the aesthetics of the figures.

It really has me wondering what direction it's going to take. Will the war continue? Or will it just be a matter of quelling uprisings? If it is gonna be tonally lighter feel, I'm guessing the latter.
