The point is silver and shiny. The point also looks better.

Getting tired of the stupid reasons that we can't see a true G1 Megatron in Classics....I don't like Nerfatron, and the closest we've come is the RTS Legends, which is OK, but those Legends are nothing compared to the new ones, and they still make Megatron a damn tank....

I'm sick of the damn tanks already.

I very much disagree. The Hasbro one was an awesome toy that represented a stage of the character that is nearly never represented. This one's just another silver Megatron to go along with all the other silver Megatrons, with the most interesting thing being taken out.

It's nowhere near as bad as the "DUUR" moment that was them turning IDW Bumblebee into "Goldbug Bumblebee" despite the fact that there is a Goldbug version coming out, but it still misses the point on the figure and I think that's disappointing.

Tanks are far more marketable to children then guns. Also, this is supposed to represent Megatron before he became a tank and was a miner/gladiator.

I don't like it. The paintjob makes no sence with that mold.

    I'm sticking with Hasbro's true miner-Megatron.

It looks better without the unpainted plastic of the US release which, IMO, makes it look unfinished. Shame they ditched the miner scheme, but it does look rather lovely. Legends figures have come a long way of late.

Now Megs looks worth getting. I'd pick him over Starscream...

EDIT. i didn't now megs design/verse previously but just that this deco is more substantial looking.
More fitting of the megs i think of character wise.

Megatron looks nice, but seeing as how it's supposed to be IDW Megatron, I would prefer the proper colors.

On one hand it's a shame Takara had to go and repaint miner Megatron into the same old G1 Megatron (how boring!)...on the other hand, I'm sure it will convince some people to get it. Some fans might not have liked the miner look or the brownish plastic used for the arms.

    So...everybody wins!

Megs looks infinitely better in his typical color scheme over the dull "happy meal colors" of the USA release. It might notbecomic accurate, but I've never read nor care to read the comics, and just want to see an awesome toy. THIS is an awesome toy. Wonder if a bored 3p group will make him a classic style fusion canon. Might have to import this and prime.. Haven't seen anything but soundwave's minions here.

Whilst I understand the point of the original IDW deco, this TG version looks great too. Also we know that he eventually chooses the silver paint job as his colors so I see this as the ascension from miner rebel to full fledged leader of the resistance.

This. I'm not disputing accuracy. I like the look better. It's my opinion.

It's kind of weird that Takara is eschewing a comic-accurate deco on Megatron, considering they previously made their Trailcutter, stealth bomber Megatron and Springer more comic-accurate than Hasbro's...

Well to be fair they screwed up Megatron's fustion cannon by making it red...for some reason. Takara's Megatron + hasbro's fusion cannon/railgun is the ultimate IDW Megatron combination.

Normally that logic'd fly with me, but the fact that they kept their deluxe Megatron in his stealthy black comic-accurate color scheme just makes this seem lazy and unimaginative.

I agree with the folks saying that this deco for Megatron misses the point. It's pretty, for sure, but the toy is supposed to represent a specific stage in the character's evolution, of which the miner colour scheme is kind of an important part. Plus it is kinda boring that they defaulted to the usual G1 Megatron colours we've seen a hundred times before, and superfluous shininess does absolutely nothing for me.

I'm with you on that one! Mainly because I could add the two of them to my Insecticon shelf :)

Although that Megatron does look somewhat nice.

I have to agree that this is a nice color scheme, but I prefer the miner deco.
