So those extra figs are non transforming, non articulation red and purple figures? I'll just get retail version, thanks

 

2013 Decoys!!!

 

I've always liked Phil Jimenez's art and he kicked ass on the Metroplex boxart. Wish that JLA/Transformers crossover project of his had been made.

 

return of Decoys?

 

With the red and purple coloring, the little figures seem like homages to the old Decoys. I can dig that.

Of course, the amusing thing is that if these little guys are supposed to be to scale, that makes Scamper a gigantic beast.  

 

As cool as the box art is, I think I am gonna stick with the retail version. Much easier to get and a little cheaper than the SDCC version.

 

Decoys look cool, but I think the reason people will go ape-nuts over it is for the chrome and extra gun. Just shows what kind of fandom we are, going bonkers for some flashy plastic and... an extra gun.

With that said...

... I'm buying it.

 

Disappointed in the decoys, wish they would have thrown in like a 6 pack of legends figs

When do I have to camp out the HTS

 

They are probably leading the charge into battle and he is traveling with them, not after him. I think it is kind of funny that it looks like Optimus is about to fall into that hole.



On the Mini Fig / decoy thing: They are all the designs of the 2014 Anniversary figures. It seems like a marketing ploy to get people to buy them when they get tired of the decoys.

Well as I'm not going to SDCC and I'm not to going to waste a day (or days) camping out at HTS/BBTS/etc, I wonder if this version will be cheaper than my preorder for the Takara version? My bank account says there can be only one that has an extra gun...

 

They should've just went with re-releases of the older Legends figures TBH... as opposed to the red/purple mini statuettes of IDW-styled characters, I think...

Also... with the amount of detailing and chrome added... you'd think they'd paint his wheels.

That said though... this should *easily* sell as fast as the Bruticus set from last year. So blech... not getting it. =.

 

I just went to BBTS and preordered Metroplex,I hope they are strictly certain to get them August 1st.I am so giddy about getting the tallest TF in history.I just wish I was at BotCon so I coulda got one there,they are so mouth watering,can't wait to get it.

Also why did BBTS break the July 1st day a day and a half early,but I am glad they did,I just hope they have enough to fill my order as I have a feeling he is gonna fly when they get them in.
