Seriously! How hard would it be for Hasbro to include instructions with the figure for tests, promos, and even packaging shots? Or are they included , but the people taking the pictures just not care at all? I'm very curious how the whole "test/promo" shot process occurs.

Autobot cloaking device testing, day 3: Upon activation, volunteer subject (identification: Hoist) experienced devastating side effects. Subject's entire torso and center of gravity has shifted. It was a sight of bewilderment to all. Subject could only offer the following comments: "GraGgghhghh." To say this is a costly setback would be a dramatic understatement.

These test shots are always so weird! I would be fascinated to know what goes on behind the scenes at Hasbro. There are always test shots with figures in crazy ridiculous colors, and now for some reason all clear plastic... why???

And then they pay people to take horribly posed, mistransformed pictures of toys they're promoting. It doesn't even make me mad; it's just WEIRD. What the heck are they doing?

You're all wrong. It's a BOTCON Exclusive! Clear Hoist!

It's neat and all to see a clear prototype, but it's not really showing us anything we haven't already seen. We HAVE seen what both Hoist and Trailbreaker will look like, so this isn't anything special, but some "behind the scenes" at Hasbro.

I thought Hoist came without the canopy, and that his weapon/hook pegged in the back where Trailcutter's canopy goes. All these pics seam to show both Hoist's hook and Trailcutter's canopy.

I'm confused. Are these test shots for Hoist, Trailcutter, or just the mold itself?

Using the picks in the TFW2005 Resource section as a reference, Hoist doesn't include the canopy. I think these are test shots for the mold itself and not necessarily one character or the other.

Still cool, though. I'm especially looking forward to Trailcutter.

It's kind of silly to judge a toy based off of a horrendously-mistransformed clear plastic test shot but hey, whatever man.

Clear plastic stuff is neat. I'd like to see how that looks transformed properly.

Oh neat a "ghost variant" Maybe Hoist dies offscreen in the '86 movie too :)
That's why Prime dies - all the medics are gone (Ratchet, Wheeljack, Hoist and even Sparkplug)
