Palisades Toys is closing!

I know they only made a few TF items, but I'm sure there are many people here who collect their other stuff.

An email from Mike:

"I regret to inform you that after more than 11 successful years, Palisades Entertainment, LLC has discontinued its business of manufacturing and selling licensed and proprietary action figures, collectibles, toys and other goods. This development parallels a general trend within the toy industry, including the bankruptcy of one of Palisades’ largest customers.

Palisades has sold a substantial portion of its assets to another industry player, an affiliate of C.A.S. Iberia, Inc. named Limited by CAS, Inc. That company will continue the sale of certain of the brands that Palisades developed, including the Factory X line.

The sale transaction did not include employment for me or my wife Kate, who many of you know. Consequently, neither Kate nor I will be reachable at the buyer’s offices, nor will we have any ongoing relationship with the buyer.

I don’t have any plans for the immediate future beyond enjoying life with Kate and our children, until I figure out our next chapter.

I’d like to take this time to thank all of my friends and colleagues, and in particular, the team that helped me build and nurture Palisades for so many years."

That's terrible news. I have greatly enjoyed collecting the Palisades TF statues.

Sad to see them go, but it's been a long time coming. I guess now I'd better hurry up and get the rest of the Zim line.

Yeah, this REALLY sucks, while I didn't do the statues I was a huge Zim fan and was looking forward to series 3 and the Wizard box set, as well as their Labyrinth Jared figure Was also a huge supporter of their Micronauts before that lines demise. Probably just waaaay to dependant on licensed properties. Those royalties had to have put a major crimp on profits (or created a lack thereof)

Man this year is going to be much cheaper with the losses of the Commemorative Series, Robotmasters, Universe, no new Takara line this year, possibly Binaltech, and now Zim I really hope someone picks up the Zim license...

Ah shit...that means no Meatwad/Frylock pack either. My Shake is forever doomed to taunt mothmonsterman alone.

Back when the line first started, I would have agreed. To me, the 12" Prime and Megatron are just terrible looking. I got them at the same time and remember opening them and having this sinking feeling that I'd made a horrible mistake.

When they made the decision to change to the 6" size, I think things really began to improve - including the 6" versions of Prime and Megs. I loved the artsy look; it was a nice change from the cartoony representations from Hard Hero. Not better or worse, just different.

I certainly hope Ravage, Devastator, and Ghost Starscream are still coming. Their releases are scheduled for this month, so I'd assume they've made it through production.
