By way of eBay seller Lena81822, who has proven reliable in getting lots of pre-release Transformers stuff in the past, we have a look at a possible upcoming new version of Classics Jetfire:

Deceo is similar to the Henkei, but features shiny red paint in place of the flat red (most notable on the boosters), no chrome on the booster engines, and the missiles are solid, not clear.

I'm guessing Asia Exclusive, given it seems to follow in the style of the United Ultra Magnus that came out previously.

 

Browsing from my phone but it looks like a con symbol on the wing...or do I need a new phone?  

 

That's definitely a con badge on his wing. Strange.

 

They are Con logos; I wonder if they're planning his bio with both affiliations?

 

Odd that he has both emblems. He looks snazzy otherwise.

 

Asian releases aren't any cheaper then Takara. . .=(

 

Curious - I still don't have the Henkei one I keep missing it - I'm not sure I'd want to pay a huge premium but if it's a cheap as the black one is I'd buy it as I like the metallic deco. But nice to see some of those early classics again with a spruced up paint job especially Mirage.

You can get either cheaper if you shop around. But obviously they'd still cost more than US prices but to give an example the various upgraded Asian leader Optimus Primes are usually cheaper than the Takara ones are.

This might not be that expensive as it might be relatively cheap like the GDO Voyagers are. it might not be a premium packaging item.. it might be part of a wave like the GDO stuff - that would depend on if it's a takara or a hasbro item though the auction text and the paint spray mask around the cabin area and use of the metallic paint suggests it's a Takara-Tomy item though.

More interesting as a potential step up in Asian releases than as an item in an of itself.

Since I sold my G1, been waiting for an upated version of Jetfire to join my collection for years.... I will keep waiting.

Somebody bought one of these and posted about it on Reprolabels' Facebook page. Some of the people think it might be a knockoff.

 

Huh. If they were doing Jetfire again (and wasn't this on the list of rumored exclusives like that Grimlock/Bruticus set, or am I imagining that?), I would've expected...more? For me this ends up like those Seeker three-packs - good news for those that missed out on earlier releases, but nothing of note here for me.

The Decepticon logos are odd though. Maybe this is supposed to be Jetfire right when he switched sides (since he still has the Autobot logo above the cockpit)?

Ehhhhh, not entirely convinced at this point. For all we know, it could be a custom.

 

Reasonable concerns, though what pushes me the other way is that the seller has various other prototypes that have not been released like the DotM Soundblaster and stuff. At the very least their track record on getting things that haven't been released for whatever reason makes me give them the benefit of the doubt.

Time will tell, of course.

 

Well, I have every version of this mold, so I'll definitely be picking this one up as well.
