funny cuz' according to history, Kunio Okawara who designed the Gundam & several 1970's era super robots also designed most of the Brave series robots well excluding some who are basically retools of G1 Transformers toys just beefed up on steroids :lol

whatever, dude. Brave were sentient robots and combined and transformed. Gundams weren't. get your super robot facts right.

Not bad. Very brave/retro robot designs. I might pick this up instead of the vehicle one.

I didn't say they were gundams I said the were similar to the gundam style which is not a bad thing.

Oh I see my first post was joking around, poking fun at the Gundam influence.

BTW every super robot design in that time period were very similar since it seemed to be believed that is what robots in the future will look like.

I have my facts right, Don't get so upset when someone mentions something outside of your opinion.

No, you can stick to your 'facts' and I to mine. No biggie. :)  Correction. Almost every 'Super Robot' from the 70s' i.e. Mazinger, Grandeizer, Getter Robo and Gaiking etc looked the same, or had similar themes i.e.Evil Alien forces threatening earth to conqure and destroy, and somehow a team of vehicals that combine into a giant robot or one single super robot is conveniently made to save the day..:lol . Gundams were in that category too, as the original RX 78-2 series started in the late 70's. All piloted by humans/ cyborgs. Brave is a 1990's design and included Exkaiser, J-Decker, Gaogaigar etc. I'm not upset, it's just that you seem rather ignorant about different eras of Robot designs, and I don't blame you for it, because you probably didn't grow up or was not exposed to them on a regular basis in Asia like we were growing up, am I right?

That was my first thought. Doesn't mean I don't want them though.

do you even realize there are sentient non-piloted mech Gundams & other Mobile Suits out there under the subline of Super Deformed or SD Gundam for short, known examples include SD Gundam Force & recently SANGOKUDEN Brave Battle Warriors, they are somewhat a boderline mix of super & real robot compared to the usual real robot genre of Gundam :lol

some SD Gundams & Mobile Suits are capable of transforming & combining to an extend so yeah.....

lol are we getting fan-boy-ish with robot facts?

Because if you must debate Brave vs. Gundam,

Brave are considered "super robots" and Gundams, sentient or not, are considered "real robots", as per SRW :p

if you mean that i get to save money by not getting what in my opinion is hideous monstrosities, then yeah the japanese are doing things right! (nothing against you by the way. what you like is what you like.)

yeah, because giant robots don't look like other giant robots because they transform and are sentient. add to that: would you then care to explain Masterforce? lifeless robot bodies that were controlled by humans but somehow still looked like transformers?
it's that person's opinion and they're entitled to it. if someone thinks all cars look the same because they're a sculpted metal shell with seats rolling on four wheels then that's they're prerogative.

would also like to see more brave inspired toys so long as they don't look like crap.

Yeah, of course I am aware of these Sentient SD Gundams, but never considered them to be really 'mainstream' as I did with the bread and butter ones... :p  But the Op was saying Gundam designs and toys are similar to Brave's... which is not the case, obviously. Each Super Robot design has had influence on another, granted, but Gundams are based on one template and one template only: the Granddaddy of them all: the RX-78-2 piloted by Amuro Ray.

Back on topic: The color scheme purple for the Shark-Brav... uhh I mean GO! toy is very reminiscent of the purple used for Shadowmaru. :lol

Phew..I think this looks way better than the TF Go! Samurai team combiner.

Edit: I do think Brave have some Gundam-ish elements to it, since Kunio Okawara was responsible with the majority of the Brave designs.
