I'm sorry for my arrogance. I wasn't alive when G1 came out and when all of these Diaclone toys came out. I haven't heard of Tiger Track before. It was a simple error on my part. Next time I'll look stuff up myself and not bother you veteran fans with my bothersome questions.

I want Masterpiece Diaclone everything. I'm really hoping for a blue Bluestreak as well, among the Lambo options.

Don't confuse veteran fans for obsessive freaks. I got my first transforming robots a year before Hasbro released Transformers (1983 Diaclone Red Mirage and Bumblejumper), so I consider myself a veteran fan, and still have the open mind and relaxed mentality to accept those who want to convert Tigertracks (a character not supported in any fiction whatsoever) with Sunstreaker (a beloved character that may or maynot get the Masterpiece treatment).

I have no problem with it for many reasons, 1) it's a damn toy, so who gives a fig what people do with it. 2) Sideswipe and Sunstreaker are called "twins" but have nothing in common... but Bluestreak, Prowl, and Smokescreen are mere brothers, tho they are identical... 3) Sunstreaker is based on an unlicensed, custom concept version of a Lamborghini, so securing a license on an unlicensed vehicle will prove difficult, and Has/Tak is all about doing things proper now, so a MP Sunstreaker may be a legal nightmare, depending on how much Lamborghini wishes to protect it's trademarks.

Wasn't meant to patronizing or anything. (You're not the first to suggest this be Sunstreaker, but it is completely against what MP stands for: you can call this toy whatever you want in your collection, but seeing ewhat they do with the other MP's, TT would unlikely ever release Sunstreaker as simply a yellow Sideswipe.)

But I do wonder how you could look at the pic of Tigertrack and at the pic of Sunstreaker that you posted, and only notice the different heads?

The difference between the bodyshape of Sunstreaker and Tigertrack is rather huge. Actually, the only thing they physically have in common is that they're yellow and they're lamborghini's.

(Actually, Tigertrack is closer to one of the RiD Spychangers than to Sunstreaker, and yet no one has confused those two :D )

You don't have to have any experience whatsoever with Generation One to see the differences between G1 Sunstreaker and G1 Sideswipe. Aside from colors, they are two completely different robot designs. See also:

    Exactly.

For me, it's just annoying when people can't see the differences between two completely different things because the G1 blinders are on. "Yellow Countach" does not equal "Sunstreaker" merely by color and make/model.

Just because myself or someone else makes certain points doesn't make us "obsessive freaks". I'm pretty open-minded on many things with Transformers. However, being "closed-minded" on certain other things isn't a "bad" thing necessarily. Wanting things done a specific way isn't by default "bad".

    As for your points:

1.) The "just toys' argument falls short pretty quickly. Obviously a LOT of people care. Simply caring doesn't make one an "obsessive freak". If anything, the constructive way to refer to such fans is "passionate fans", as Transformers fans do tend to be.
2.) You're superimposing certain qualities that aren't necessarily specific to robots. I do follow your logic ("twins" vs. "brothers"), though. TakaraTomy making these figures look like their actual G1 show and toy counterparts trumps just about any kind of other argument for me, though.
3.) I don't think it may be as difficult as it seems. Time will tell if we get a proper Sunstreaker. While I hope we do, I want it done right if we get one. The Masterpiece's mo isn't doing things "halfway".

If you're in Japan that's the only way to get it. Often these exclusives are also made available through other channels for other parts of Asia (outside of Japan). So RK gets theirs through a different channel.
