I appreciate the molded detailing and color schemes, so I'm warming to them.

implying G1 to present toy's anatomy proportions are bad as hell cuz they don't look human despite being ALIEN ROBOTS who aren't ment to look human from the start?..... :rolleyes2

Since Hasbro did originally show Wingblade Optimus Prime as an upcoming figure for their line (albeit with the deluxe Prime mold), you appear be reinforcing BraveMax's point about plans changing all the time.

I can.... calmly and reasonably state.... that these are not to my liking. :)  No hate from me, I'm actually sort of relieved I can skip them, with other stuff coming out in the near future.

The police car looks more like a Roadbot than anything, and the jet and firetruck seem to have that annoying Energon Autobot pelvis-less hip design.

You could almost repurpose the jet into Shattered Glass Dirge, but it sort of not even worth the trouble.

Sad to say, Gaidora looks pretty bad to me as well. That head sculpt is way too busy for that body, and looks out of place. It reminds me unpleasantly of pizza-faced PCC Huffer.

Anyway, more money to put toward other things!

but there is a possibility that specific Japan only moulds are just being solicited locally and therefore only sold there in the country. They are simply for the Japanese market, nothing more.

The point is not that what they are presently doing, it's that you don't know that they won't do it in the future.

Figures were named that had been planned but not released. But by their nature, things that weren't originally planned but ultimately were released (ie: the things you probably didn't know you weren't going to get) often don't get the same attention. Or outrage.

For example, are you certain that they originally planned from day one to mass remold their Prime toys into the Beast Hunters range? Look where we are now. Can you be sure that they always intended that second pass at First Edition figures after cancelling the original wave? That happened too, but it probably wasn't going to.

The Almanacs tell us they originally weren't planning to do a Samurai Prowl toy, or to have Oil Slick in the Animated cartoon. Yet we got them.

These guys are Japan-only. At the present time.

yeah like every one else already mentioned, these have the combined worst features of roadbot clunky aesthetic and awkward energon leg/body proportions...frankly they look like chinese kos. too much was compromised for the head/torso/legs swap combination. they should've just stick with fixed position combination that worked so well for the brave series.

are the transformers prime toys selling so well in japan that they're shoehorning an unrelated animated series and toyline into the transformers brand.

They have wee little bug heads. That's value-added and clearly explains the outrageous price.

Well, to be fair, these guys are nobodies at the moment. No known characters or whatever. And they have a gimmick that only applies to them at the moment. Plus, they are more or less the same size but have variable price points due to electronics and whatnot.

All those are pretty good reasons why hasbro won't even bother with them. Will they shoehorn them as voyagers and gut their electronics? But how will they market them as?

Except they ARE meant to look "human", and have been pretty much from the start.

That's the basic problem with this old argument; yes, they are alien robots, but within the dominant fiction over the past 30 years or so, it's been pretty clear that most Transformers are intended to have roughly human proportions, with some variation for alt-modes and for dramatic effect. We saw some departure from this with Beast Wars and with Bayformers, but I think it's safe to say that the general human form is the foundation of the Transformers aesthetic... and for many, many of us, it is the natural rubric by which we judge whether new figures are appealing.

So yeah... these guys with almost no torso and legs up to their necks? In addition to looking like they have some articulation issues, they also just look pretty awkward.

Nothing about them at all fits in with the PRIME aesthetic. Nothing at all.

It's like Takara blatantly said "Screw you 'Merica! keep your prime, here's our shit"

This doesn't even look like Transformers, it looks more like RID or some other entirely different anime not tied to the Transformers universe.

kinda reminds of past transformers able to do pretty much the same combination style. And yeah thanks for pointing those out. Kinda awkward proportions.

I was fixated with the car dude. I like him a lot. Plus the car mode reminds me of TFP Smokescreen.

I kinda like them for what they are, and am hoping for a semi posable combined mode.
