Yep. Still interested in this guy. Even moreso now that you can make out facial details. The blue on blue from the pics last year looked incomplete.

Please don't tell me that the 3 of 30 means that only 30 will be produced

That's what I'm thinking at least

It's 30 different figures for the 30th anniversary line which runs from this year to I think? some extent of 2014 due to how long it will take to release all 30 items.

It will not be a 15 year line. No way would they carry it that long. People would quickly lose interest and there would be to many changes with Transformers for a small line like this to live on for 15 years.

Highly doubt that. A small run like that on a toy of which money was spent on to retool it wouldn't make it cost effective.

I did entertain the idea of getting this but I already knew he was going to be a bit expensive because of being a Platinum release, but seeing the pics of his "Magnus Stacks" kibble hanging off the sides in truck mode, I think I will pass.

I didn't see this confirmed anywhere...

    If there's only 30, then we already know 4 Legends, 7 deluxes, 3 Voyagers, 2 Platinums, and 1 Titan. That's 17/30.

I remember hearing it from Toyfair.

30 seems like a good number to go with, considering they also have to sell Beast Hunters, Kreos, Construct-a-bots, and bot shots toys. That right there is already a ton of Transformers product competing for shelf space.

With another film coming up, I don't think it will be a big line for the 30th. Once again, something good ends early because of something...movie.

Looks pretty good and the box is pretty decent. what really sells it for me is the Forge of Solus Prime. However not sure if the price will justify to buy this magnus.

That's as may be, but I have all of the extant 30th anniversary product and none of the rest of them have this X of 30 business.

Besides, Magnus is the 3rd Platinum toy, whereas he'd be the 5th Thrilling 30 toy if he came out tomorrow.

As much as I detest blatant repaints that WILL die on the shelves in droves, I do have my fingers crossed that this could result in a higher quality re-release of First Edition Prime with some much-deserved chrome treatment (and no embarrassing brown doors). Probably won't be so lucky though, and we'll five 5 more Bumblebee variants.

Don't even mind the really compromised truck mode, what still bothers me the most is the colors. For some reason they went with a really pale white for his body, as well as his face (at Toy Fair the face was actually light blue, a la Animated Magnus, which looked even worse).

Had this thing been done in more accurate colors I'd be all over it. Now it just feels like a missed opportunity - the regular voyager looks much nicer.

    Shame about the Forge though!

Yeah the hammer looks pretty good, I'm actually wondering why no 3rd party company has put one out yet, but we've gotten countless Star Sabers or variations thereoff.

The art is very nice. I'm glad he has white face rather than pale blue earlier pic. The fully painted red hand I'm not fond off and will look kind out of place when he's standing next to my Cyberverse, PRID, and once I get that BH version. But overall, I like the Platinum Edition, can't wait to have him as part of my UM Collection. Oh the hammer, priceless! I hope it can be mounted onto his back like the show.

Since they fixed the face and Prime Ultra Magnus has kibble on his truck bed in the show, this version is a great one. Plus it has an accurately colored forge, aside from the handle. Until you get to the freaking gigantic shoulder kibble that ruins the vehicle mode.

Damn. I really want that Forge.

I couldn't care less for the rest of it, though, since I only really buy anything for having a complete cast, and this thing is waaay too big, unless you get the Ultimate Optimus, but in that case, there's no Predaking that's large enough or any Megatron that's large enough.

*sigh* There would be a lot less scale problems if Hasbro actually cared for Leader size anymore.
Or at least made Decepticons in that size.
