I agree, unless we have someone officially stating that FunPub asked for it, it's not something they can be blamed for. They have enough baggage already... which was why I was careful in saying "announcements" not "created by", when referring to EVERYTHING that has been announced as news pertaining to BotCon.
I clicked on the "Convention News" filter here, and aside from having trouble finding news topics to hype up the (once) premiere Transformers Convention, all I saw that wasn't toy-related, was what I mentioned above.

And I do agree with SwineTrekkie, about having current Voice Actors. Most Gen1 Voice Actors have been pretty lively and remembered their parts, but we have had a couple that didn't really remember anything, and that's where the Organisers should prep their guests with some episodes or even the TFWiki bio, so that the VA can at least fake it for us oldies, even if it is is just doing lines in their character's voice (after having the refresher of what they sounded like).
I support exposure to current stuff, as it is great for the newer generations of fans (and I'm one of the few who is watching and collecting Rescue Bots, so will look forward to their panel), but we do need to balance it out with at least one "veteran" guest each year... just to throw us oldies a bone.  
(If FunPub targets the oldies with its pre-registration packages, it would seem out of place to then target the kiddies with the convention itself.)

 

Do you dudes REALLY want to see the same G1 voice actors year after year after year after year? Aren't you tired of Scott McNeil by this point? No offense to Scott McNeil, or G1 voice actors.

You REALLY want the same boring stuff handed to you on a silver platter? Rescue Bots is great, its fun and caters to all ages. I guess I understand the POINT of this is con is to be all fan wanky but...man. Lighten up. Try to have fun and be positive.

 

Steve Blum is also a Prime voice actor... It's kind of a two-fer!

 

I love how people complain because the Rescue Bots cast is going there... 

 

Because they think that if Rescue Bots cast isn't there than their dream guest would be there like Frank Welker.

I for one am looking forward to a new panel devoted to Rescue Bots. I have found that there is a lack of originality coming from the panels lately, it's the same stuff year after year.

 

Not all of us have had the privilege of seeing Scott McNeil, or most G1 VAs. Last year was my first Botcon, so yes...yes, I'd love to see Scott, and many others.

 

If Funpub asked for it than I would shake the hand of who ever had the idea. It's better than having the same old voice actors that have been to several Botcon's.

 

I believe the statement you're quoting was talking about the MLP cover (my comment about that was immediately before it), not the inclusion of the Rescue Bots Cast.

 

Yeah, that's true, but he's gone on to complain about the "kiddie" Rescue Bots, so clearly he's bothered by the inclusion of voice actors he doesn't approve of.

Honestly, the only RB cast member I'd get really excited about is LeVar Burton. But nope, not on the list.

 

My kids dont know we're going to Botcon (keeping it a surprise), but they are going to totaly love this. We got to meet Steve Blum November of last year. I can't wait to see their faces when they see the whole Rescue Bots cast!

Nicole Dubuc's there. She's a Prime Writer...oh boy i'm predicting a lot of flak she'll get especially since she's the one who started making Ratchet's "I NEEDED THAT" his catchphrase.

 

That's supposed to be a catchphrase? I just thought it was a side effect of most episodes being exactly alike.

 

I'll take the cast of Rescue Bots over most voice actors including Peter Cullen for the umpteenth time. Great job Fun pub, this news has me even more excited.

 

Wish I could be at BotCon this year to see the cast of Rescue Bots. I love Rescue Bots.
