Looking forward to reviews. The voyager Predaking has a neat transformation but those god awful soft spikes that are already disintegrating on mine. Meanwhile, Optimus looked awesome at Toy Fair but when the stock pics were released, looked nothing more than an upsized version of the voyager with hollow ankles/feet, a ring, and a bad ass sword but cheap looking plastic.

Nonetheless, I want to hear how these turned out. The sad thing is, the only figure to come close to matching Optimus' look in the show is actually the Cyberverse figure, and with look I mean overall look and silhouette.

Judging by Ultimate Optimus I am not sure I'll be getting him as his non-glossy finish is a little saddening.

But Predaking on the other hand looks gorgeous, can't wait till he's released stateside.

Beast Fire Predaking and Ultimate BH Optimus Prime aren't even out from where I am. *sighs* It's gonna be another long wait from my end. Oh well.

Looking forward to Beast Fire Predaking's review. He looks brilliant!

Normally, I tend to skip the Ultimate/Leader class figures, with a few exceptions here and there (for example, I didn't buy the TFP Optimus or Bumblebee leader toys, but I own Leader toys from Armada, Cybertron, Animated, ROTF and DOTM). But I will definitely pick up this Predaking at some point. Might get the Optimus later on, but I'll need to see it in person first. Right now, I'm quite happy with his voyager and Cyberverse versions.

I'm kind of on the fence over Predaking. Maybe a review will help.

Not sure about Predaking. When your main gimmick is your wingspan, it can't be all that good. That'd be like...

I'm sorry, are you one of the five-year-olds who actually buys these toys for their gimmicks? Most of us realize they more frequently ruin the toys.

Either way, he's got two missile launchers and he's huge; what more do you want, lights and sounds? Pft.

Surprised that there are two different box designs. Don't remember the last time figures in the same size class had two different boxes beides what is printed on the box.

Hardly my problem, nor concern. If you want extra gimmicks in your toys, you're in the adult minority with the 5-10 year olds.

:lol  Hey, with all the clip-on wheels being used lately real axles would almost be an exciting gimmick to advertise!

I can't think of a single transformer since G1 who wouldn't have been better with his/her gimmick taken out and the budget for it put into the figure itself. I'm sure there's one or two examples out there, but outliers do not a trend make.

Fun fact: Hasbro only puts gimmicks in toys to annoy adult collectors. We used to think they have entire teams of specialists doing market research and engaging actual children in focus groups with hands-on testing to gauge fun-factor and overall opinion from their intended target market, but nope - turns out they're just dicks.
