They all look cool (ESPECIALLY SHOCKWAVE), but why does Silverbolt have Wheeljack's head?

It's diversification more than anything. Transformers is a strong brand for Hasbro, so they're using it as a platform to get a foothold in the construction toys market's subsegment that Lego currently owns.

Most of the headsculpts look really good but the bodies are lacking, to put it nicely. It'll be cool to see what kind of bots you can build with a few kits. Hopefully booster sets will be available as well.

Shockwave is definitely superior here as his alt mode actually looks like something other than a jumble of parts. You can definitely the see LEGO HeroFactory influences in these guys.

I totally forgot about these things (or the earlier ones)

When are they supposed to be out, anyway?

    It's basically just a subline, like Kre-O, rather than a full-on line.

Yuck, why can't we ever get a normal G1 version of Dead End? Maybe I'll still buy him or Breakdown, though.

This is Prime Dead End, I think. Lots of the designs in Constructabots so far have been leaning toward the Prime style IMO. I bet it is meant to be a part of the aligned continuity family.

Makes me wonder why there's no dragons in the line yet though if that is the case...

I'm still very interested in this concept. Again, the jets seem to come off the best, though there's some massive improvement in how some of the "ground" vehicles look in this announcement, especially Dead End and Brakedown. I'm getting a real Targetmasters/Pretenders vibe off Smokescreen and Cliffjumper as well, and while I don't think they look great, I'm intrigued.

I'm still convinced this is a line that's only really going to shine once people start swapping parts and moving things around.
