Looks like Soundwave is getting some love from the guys over at Acidfree Gallery. They just posted a preview of one of their upcoming prints. Soundwave preview! This will be released at Wizard World Philadelphia on May 30th. There will also be a variant version.
Because Soundwave SUPERIOR, EVERYTHING ELSE INFERIOR. Haha I can't wait to meet this guy at the Phili Comic Con, will defs be buying this.
Most notably, why does Soundwave has such a ginormous foot, and a similarly huge forearm? Foreshortening doesn't sufficiently explain this. I thought we had left the bizarre oversized proportions behind us when Dreamwave went bust. Still, the art style itself is much better than anything by Pat Lee. I love the retro-futuristic style. Too bad the proportions for Soundwave are so odd.
whatever they don't sell at the show usually go online...and sell quickly. There's also going to be a Dinobots print and possibly a Starscream one. Acidfree Gallery posted a teaser and you can clearly see Sludge. And now we know about Soundwave. The top bar may be Starscream but not sure yet. Obviously, the bottom one is Voltron.
This. The proportions are so bad I can't even appreciate the image itself. It might not be as bad if the gun weren't so ridiculously long.
That's not that great, considering who the artist is. Giantness aside, those proportions aren't right. *cringe*

philistines. those proportions are monumental. It's a sophisticated piece of work, and fundamentally very cool. I won't tolerate a word against it.
Anybody going to Philadelphia Comic Con? Please PM me if you can help me out and grab this print for me
Looks great. I can't echo the statement about the proportions at all. Look fine to me, there's a slight exaggeration in his front leg for effect, and ok, yeah, he's definitely depicted way too big - but I'm certain the artist did so either to make it an imposing image or (more probable) was, like a lot of artists in this niche, influenced by other giant robot franchises and just likes drawing them huge. Doesn't bother me at all. Colors are beautiful, too. Seriously d00ds, if you're going to critique this piece at least mention how Ravage just blends into Soundwave's leg, hitting all the worst possible tangents in the process. :-/
I fully agree, i can put Soundwave's proportions down to style but Ravage is misplaced. My thoughts are.. have Ravage leaping and snarling over the black car in the front left of the print.
Nice! I hope you can unsee how the null rays that are not joined to his arms. That and the hip kibble irks me
If anyone can be of help in assisting me getting the Dinobots or there Jazz print PLEASE PM me! I will make it worth your effort! Thanks! Jason
