I really like this toy's look, especially how chunky he is. He's like and old classics toy with modern sculpting.

I'm delighted that the shield/gunpack thing can go on his back. Gonna look great with his generator on top of his head with the pack on his back.

    Can't wait for this figure!

Uh ... no. The toy is built to resemble the toy. Nothing else. Then Hasbro told IDW to make the spotlights and have them match the toy. So the Orion Pax spotlight very specifically in the issue itself explicitly states that Orion had an entirely new body built just for this one issue. And for the record, in every single previous Orion Pax appearance he looked just like Optimus, several times with heavy War Within Optimus influences. IDW Orion Pax has never looked like cartoon Orion Pax.

No, as PredaconElder said, the design that Orion Pax's new toy is based on showed up first in Spotlight Blurr, way back in 2008. Spotlight Blurr takes place after Spotlight Orion Pax, before he had a chance to change back.

TFWiki mentions it on the page for Spotlight Orion Pax, in the notes section.

Ah, okay. But I still don't get where the cartoon got brought in from. If someone's discussing comics and comic designs and toys that are based on the comic designs, it should be reasonable to assume that said person (me) is not questioning why the toy doesn't resemble a badly drawn design from 30 years ago that was used once. :p

We need this pinned to the top of every page in this thread. Also, thanks for the laugh :D

Sure, I'd like a voyager sized version but I'll take what I can get especially if it is as rad as this.

I think the main problem is not the size in robot-mode, which is fine, but the size in truck-mode relatively to other deluxe cars (but Hastak was never good scaling trucks and cars anyway... =/ ). This and let's hope they will not use very thin or, worse, rubbery plastic... That hollow waist part, looking from the back, is not beautiful (yes, I do look the back of figures...) The problem with hollow parts like that is not just about aesthetics: if that visible waist joint has any imperfection, it will rotate out of place, which will be annoying...

I'm glad I'm no longer the only one pointing out how insane this babble about Deluxe figures being tiny now truly is.

Well trail breaker looks good to me. He looks pretty good as a robot. His alt mode does seem a bit smaller but against tf prime bumblebee isn't a exact comparison need to compare against another generations car

One thing that amazes me though is he sure has a lot of prototype toys lying around. Awesome, guess he's got a friend in the factory

Looks good to me, I was using the ROTF Stockade with Trailbreaker reprolabels as a stand-in as well as ROTF Hoist and I'm glad I can retire both figures soon!
