It seems like everybody is so happy to have a Fort Max they aren't bothered by the fact that they received a flawed product. I have to agree with you, these QC issues are unforgivable. I'm glad I cancelled my preorder for two figures.

If Takara Tomy wants to try another run and put out a figure that's fucking perfect, then I'll be happy to buy a couple. Until then, this is something I can live without.

The QC issues really aren't as bad as it looks. Most everyone has only like 1 or 2 issues from the whole list of QC issues. Which each one by itself is fairly minor and can be easily lived with or fixed. No one has gotten a FM that was absolutely riddled with QC issues.

Yeah, you're damn right we're so happy to finally have a Fort Max without having to give up our left nuts for an original vintage. But again, most people only had a couple issues which are fairly minor on their own. Max even getting reissued in the first place is probably a small miracle.

This damn sure ain't no Encore Bruticus.

Agreed. Both of mine have the backwards thighs on Spike, Cerebros that has trouble plugging in as a tower, and loose fitting guns in the fists ( only on one toy, but both fists ). None of these things are detrimental to the figure, nor would I have even noticed them if not for this thread. I seem to remember my Brave Max having the same Cerebros tower issue, so I'm not sure that one's even a flaw.

What was supposedly wrong with Encore Bruticus? Mine seemed just fine. Did I get lucky or is there a list of his problems I should look for? I have a feeling it's the same as Fort Max. They're all minor and I never noticed them because I wasn't looking for them.

The only issues I had with Encore Bruticus were:

    1. Onslaught's double-cannon was installed backwards, but five minutes with a Phillips head fixed that.

    2. Vortex's legs were SEVERELY tight; so much so I was afraid to transform him - especially since my vintage Vortex broke in the same place. Fixed that with a screwdriver, too.

Encore Bruticus was apparently heavily flawed due to mold degredation from the many uses of it. I never got one, but remember seeing folks complaining about it. Someone else could probably elaborate on it.

I've got Encore Bruticus also, and I agree that it's not a bad release. :)

Some people were complaining a lot about the sharpness of detail, because as Galaxy Convoy said, the moulds have been used so many times over the years. When you compare the vintage to Encore, the Combaticon figures have somewhat rounded edges, where it ought to be sharper... things like that.

It's only particularly noticeable if you're looking for it though.
