Loved the idea of the data disks until I got the whole set in hand. Compared to the masterpiece minions these are plastic turds, especially (the one I really wanted to love) rhinohorn. May package them all up and get rid of them as a set, including their Voyager tape deck masters. Inevitably Takara will get around to making Blaster and HIS minions in the Masterpiece line, then we'll really be cooking with gas. However, these FOC minion 'pretenders' are utter crap.

 

Shockwave is BLUE???  


Either my monitor is messed up or I need to go have my eyes checked. I know purple shows up as blue a lot on computers so I hope it's just the pictures.

 

Oh man, I am liking these colour schemes so much more than the Hasbro release. Still not convinced to buy them, but a definite improvement.

 

I miss the Microns already.  

 

Soundwave looks better than the Hasbro version still, but worse than the smaller picture.

I actually like US Wheeljack better. This one is too dull.

The cassettes look nice with extra paint.

Couldn't be assed to look at the rest. Don't care.

 

Indeed some of those stickers are the work of an evil mind.

 

Damn! Shockwave looks awesome. Even the crappy beast hunter pieces look good on him. Prime looks great and even Soundwave. Takara wins again.

 

I'd say hasbro won shockwave. Takara's is way too blue. Now when hands on pics come out and he's a metallic purple? Yeah takara wins shockwave too.

 

Optimus, Shockwave, Dragontron, Starscream are the ones I'd l
definitely like to have.

 

Interesting how Predaking is here, but Lazerback and Ripclaw are nowhere to be seen.

 

It's amazing what a bit of paint can do. So many of the Hasbro versions looked awful, but TakaraTomy has managed to make even the most uninteresting of the lot (i.e. Bulkhead and Starscream, and even Soundwave) look half-decent. I wasn't going to touch that Prime Shockwave, but the Japanese one is tempting, and the Optimus looks FAR better.

 

Now, I want takara shockwave too optimus is already a must for me.

 

Takara have done amazing job for the shockwave,the rest of the figure is just normal

 

Bulkhead looks amazing now that he's actually in Bulkhead colors, and that Soundwave...hnngg.


Are any of these up for preorders yet?

 

I just preordered that Shockwave from BBTS, not sure about the others.

 

I think I'll reserve judgment about TT's Shockwave until the in hand pictures show him without his armor, since 99% of the time he won't be wearing it.

 

They look good for sure. But $10 deluxes at Target look even better.

 

they all look great. but i think i am going to still get the hasbro versions for all... except maybe shockwave. and bulkhead looks great too. almost as if he is another character completely.   *from the obviously BRAWN/MAN at arms, bulkhead* lol

 

I will admit some of these look much better in their more normal colors like Prime, Soundwave, Bulkhead, and Starscream. Some actually look worse too like Wheeljack, he looks too plain. Now my only question, is the blue windows and star saber enough to warrant paying twice as much for another BH Prime....

Also, can't wait to see their take on BH Ratchet and Dreadwing.
