Im just very happy to see female transformers appearing in comics again..I missed them in FoC itself.
I have that same sweater. I think I'm going to need to spend less on masterpieces, and more on wardrobe pieces.
Well she sure has the enthusiasm for the project, but I seriously hope she learned from Rage of the Dinobots because I found everything but the last issue quite a drag. And getting better on the last issue is a positive sign but doesn't guarantee anything.
I think it had a lot to do with the fact that she was confined to just those 4 issues story-wise, and she even points that out in previous interviews regarding the Beast Hunters ongoing. The improvement of issue 4, along with her enthusiasm and the fact that she'll have less time constraints makes me confident that her work for the new comic will be pretty good, if not great.
I have to say, I would love to have a conversation with this person. She seems interesting This is amazing to me:
I can't be 100% certain, but it seemed like she hinted at the idea that Dinobots may "collide" with the toon Beast Hunters show. Granted, this season is shorter than the average so there may not be time to do so, but perhaps they'll get shoehorned in, in an 'everything and the kitchen sink' last hoorah kind of way. Please by the holiest of holy Primus!! I don't think that was her. I think that was another female writer.
God you put a woman in the equation and everybody becomes 12 again... I met Mrs. Scott AND HER HUSBAND once and they were both extremely nice people
Great interview! All the Transformers comics have been awesome of late. I've been looking forward to the Rage of the Dinobots TPB in May, but now I'm even more excited. Being a female comic book reader, issues of women in comics and female characters have always been important to me, so I'm glad to see Mrs. Scott involved in the franchise and being part of an ongoing with Beast Hunters. I really liked how she talked about incorporating her own martial arts knowledge into the fight scenes. It's something I try to do with my own writing as well. Ser-Ket sounds like a character I'm really going to like. I also can't wait to see the Dinobots in a leadership position, I laughed out loud at the thought of Grimlock having to learn to be diplomatic. It also fits in with the theme of RID and MTMTE where characters who haven't been seen as leaders before are having to step up to the plate. I like that. It makes a welcome change from the status quo of Op and Megs. I would love to meet Mrs. Scott at a convention someday. And I hope the Beast Hunters comic gets to continue the Prime universe even after the final cartoon season ends. Is Mrs. Scott's first name pronounced Mary or Margaret?
By all means I hope that you're right, I'm just saying it doesn't actualy guarantee anythign so I still hesitate a little to say I'm hyped for it. I DO love Mairghread Scott and Mike Johson's Prime episodes, Out of the Past and Hurt are my favorite episodes of the entire thing. I really hope they do something sweet with Beast Hunters comic.
Of course-- I'm cautious in my optimism as well, it just makes good sense to be. Nevertheless, I'm still excited for what might be; I can't help myself, haha. And yes, same here. For that same reason, I'm also looking forward to Mairghread's episode of Beast Hunters later this season.
Good interview, Orio. I haven't read the Rage of the Dinobots yet as I get everything in TPB form now. But so far RID and MTMTE are incredibly good so I'm really looking forward to getting it.
Thanks, I can't take all the credit. Shin, NIBM and Sol pitched in with questions for her too. edit: that's also the best user title on TFW.
One of the BEST TFP interviews ever...excited to see..and read...the spoilers she's hinted about for the future of both the TV series and the comics. Mine's on preorder for sure.
