Yes. Blackarachnia and Waspinator show up and get into a power struggle with Predaking while Airachnid wonders what the hell is going on.

This is the only thing I noticed in the article...really? How the hell did season 3 of Prime start so soon but it's over a year for season 2 of RB? I know DC said maybe fall since they were still recording but damn!

Given the airdate I'm guessing its an additional 3 episodes... Season 3 was probably going to end on a cliff hanger with the Predacons winning which would carry over into series 4... but now they've done a TV movie in order to explain what happens.

CGI takes less time to make than hand drawn animation. Its one of the reasons that we got TF; Prime in CGI in the first place.

Pretty much. I'm guessing Transformers Prime was at one point scheduled to have a fourth series and they ended series 3 on a cliff hanger with the Predacons winning. Predacon's rising will probably be an epilogue covering them battling the Predacons.

Yep - they probably planned It from the start and reduced the episode count due to this.

Has anyone noticed with a shortened season that the quality of the CGI is bumped up just a bit? I guess no one will really notice until it premiers on the HUB in HD tomorrow.

I noticed it even with the crappy quality. Much, much more attention has been paid to the background especially. Even the gestures of the characters and facial expressions improved. And dat fire!

I think that's due to Polygon sharing the burden with Silver Ant though, and not due to a shorter season :)

Same here, and I'm also inclined to think that it's the result of Polygon having some extra help from the other studio. Given the fact that other Predacons have seemingly finally been confirmed, I think this help may have also allowed them to potentially make more characters models as well.

I like that they're doing a movie to finish it off. I just hope it's not rushed. I don't want any magical way to beat all of the Predacons and Decepticons all at once to just fall from the sky.

    So, wait.

This movie is actually the first three episodes that aired in Singapore and it documents whether or not Shockwaves armor comes off.

    I have that right, right?

My guess is that at one stage they planned to do a series 4 with the Predacons as the main villains so in the final episodes of series 3 the Predacons rebel and defeat the Decepticons - meaning that the Predacons essentially are the new villains at the end of series 3. Megatron will likely be getting a new 'beast hunter' form which will probably debut in the movie or the final episodes of series 3.

As for the title... 'G.I.Joe rise of Cobra' had the enemies defeated at the end (well except for one of them) Point is... just because it says Predacons rising doesn't mean that they will win :p

This sounds a lot like what they are doing with MLP. A 90 minute "movie" and then season 4 "in winter".

I dont get it. It will be the last 3 episodes all together or a whole movie separated from the episodes we are getting this season? :S

I'm guessing that the so called Movie is just the last few eps slammed together - if however it is additional content then that would at least explain the shorter season length.

But I remain sceptical that it's actually something new at this point. and it's either the last few eps 11,12,13 stuck together or the show only reaches a partial conclusion at episode 13 and the "Movie" is really episode 14,15, & 16 sold to the public as a single thing.

However in theory if the last few eps are stuck together that might allow for a tiny bit more additional content over an above the same episodes if shown individually.

Anyway if the "Movie" is just the conclusion again, then nothing is lost if it's extra material or a lead into a follow on show then great.

I'll be interested to see which in due time.

Yes and no...think Flash. They're hand drawn, but only once. After that, it's all comp and partly why the animation got better as the series went cause they were adding new "models". So it really shouldn't take any longer than Prime.

So this may have been the reason why Transformers Prime's third season was cut from 16 to third, to make 14-16 a TV movie series finale.
