Surprised that they're doing Monstrosity as a four-issue mini in print.
Oh, great. RID #18 sounds like Arcee: The Issue. Something I couldn't possibly be less interested in.
Hmm. They're releasing Monstrosity as real-life issues? They didn't do that for Autocracy did they? Also of note is that that issue is 32 pages, which equals 4 digital issues, and is billed as 1 of 4, which would suggest that Monstrosity is going to run to 16 digital issues rather than the 12 than Autocracy ran for... Also, I guess Shockpoint is starting in October with (unless they combine them or something for the event) RID and MTMTE #22. That'd match up with Roberts saying MTMTE 14-21 conclude the first big arc of the comic.
Ads, man, ads. Any random IDW TF issue is 32 pages, with 22 pages of comic and ten pages of covers and ads. Four sets of three issues at 24 pages each for these, presumably.
Oh, yeah, course. Totally failed to notice everything else was listed 32 pages too... >_< Just looked at the covers. Skids vs. Legislators looks pretty cool, but that Arcee one just looks... odd.
Damn I want IDW to normalize Arcee and introduce other femmes something fierce. It's the one remaining point of suckitude in their otherwise awesome ongoing books. -ZacWilliam, it'd be so easy to do with the Nails already around, just fix it already!
"We can't give you any names, but we're going to use the pronoun 'her' because it's not like there's only one female Cybertronian or anything!"
Same here. Or Glyph, Or Road Rage, Howlback, Flipsides, Chromia, Elita 1, Discharge... I could keep going... -ZacWilliam, basically any femme besides Arcee would make it an amazing issue...
I wouldn't mind if the issue WAS all Arcee but they introduced some other femmebots, possible because it seems like maybe Jhiaxus is appearing.
I really don't mind the idea of Arcee being focused on in the issue, as long as it gives depth to what is really going on in her noggin and what her actual plans then I'm game.
It's not so much that I don't want an issue focusing on Arcee, in fact that could be exactly what the character needs if it develops her better. It's more just wanting them to open things up to all the other cool non-psycho femmes appearing. -ZacWilliam, this issue could be a very good or bad thing...
Arcee issue. *sad trombone* I always feel a bit mixed on this kind of thing... because on ONE hand, Arcee desperately needs SOME kind of depth, character development and canonical exploration, because she's been for over a year now, one of the most insufferable/superficial/dull characters in the regular fiction. And this from a character that Barber has identified as "his favourite". On the OTHER HAND, I'm kind of terrified that Barber will fumble the ball on this whole "gender" thing. The clean-up duty on Arcee (and ALL fembots as a result) after Furman is no easy task, and I don't exactly feel like Barber has been knocking them out of the park recently. Meanwhile, Roberts has been doing great stuff in terms of fleshing out Cybertronian society, biology, culture and history. I just hope that whatever comes out of this is the product of some careful, intelligent consideration... And yeah, I think I'd like to see Glyph make it into IDW. Don't ask me why... she's just about the only Fembot I would give the time of day to. Unless they try to "sex her up"... that would be a disaster. zmog
Sadly, it looks like mostly Decepticons are offed based on the sillhouettes of the people behind her, but I also see Metalhawk as a possible causality too in there.
