Still mega-excited for Soundwave, though I really am just quite bitter that I already ordered Frenzy and Buzzsaw.

Acid Storm looks pretty neat. Might be my first version of this mold if the real thing looks as cool.

Ugh, why did they give Soundwave the yellow visor? G1 toy accuracy don't mean shit when the masterpieces are designed to be cartoon accurate. Is it at least easy to take the head apart on MP Soundwave? I'm gonna paint the sucker if possible.

 

I am SO glad they went with the yellow eyes.

Soundwave was my first Transformer in 1984, and he had yellow eyes. This one will bring back all those memories.

Also, are those image filenames from TFW or from Hasbro? Because the red one is Rumble, and blue one Frenzy (as it should be in order to be toy accurate like Soundwave's eyes).

 

 

Some chrome sticker can't even come close to looking as good as a paint app. It's a fine fix for those who don't want to shell out for the Takara MP or paint their own hasbro one, but it's far from ideal. Honestly, a hatred of stickers was one of the major reasons I learned how to paint.

For those wondering, Etipsone is a Freelance Artist in Rhode Island on DeviantArt. Perhaps he did the deco?

 

I prefer the Takara colors, but I'll still buy two of the Soundwaves... both to sell in two years to counter the cost of my Takara Soundwave and tapes.

 

Ok. I was thinking he went for sixty, so I wasn't off by much. I would prefer to find him in-store when he's released, but I'd rather not risk not being able to find him, and then paying more for him online anyways.

If BBTS puts up a pre-order for him (can't remember if they had one for Thundercracker), I might go that route.

 

Acid Storm looks pretty cool despite not being accurate to anything. The neon green (probably will be darker in hand) on the main body and digital woodland camo patterns on the wings would normally clash (and it kinda does in jet mode) but the combo is kinda neat in bot mode. Guess this means I'm picking this guy up along with MP-13S Sunstorm.

Hey, Reprolabels, how about a sticker set to turn MP Thundercracker into Hail/Icestorm? It'd be pretty easy to do, methinks. That way, we can get a set of MP Rainmakers!

 

Skipping Acid Reflux. Was hoping they'd release Starscream in the cartoon-accurate look... oh well.

 

Acid storm honestly looks like the best MP figure to date (something re imagined vs retread). Shame that he will probably be very hard to get for a lot of MP fans

 

Acid Storm's deco looks pretty good, but not good enough to justify spending ~$75 on a subpar mold and a non-character.

Soundwave is Soundwave, I guess. I didn't want the Takara version and I don't want this one.

 

Not a fan of the green eyes, but everything else looks good to me.

I kid not I literally just bought thundercracker from toys are us for 63 bucks with the sole intention of painting him into acid storm in neon green from the G1 show.

Now I feel like I should make it the blue rain maker.
