Good to have some confirmation, as if this wasn't inevitable anyways. Though it's not like the season three finale will be the actual ending. We've still go the movie to look forward to, which should handle that.

Wait, was it confirmed the movie will be a side-thing? For all we know it could very well be the first five episodes tied together into one.

I skimmed over the news so I might be wrong here. :)

Let's hope Prime goes out with a bang.

Actually, I think it's the final three episodes of the original 16 count. Might be the first. Either way it's three, bringing it to 13 + movie (3 episodes).

I hate that they have a great series going and then they decide to cancel it then start a new series next year? This is dumb. If it's not broken, don't fix it.

You should try watching Young Justice. Actually watch any Cartoon that fits in the same target audience/genre as Transformers. They all take breaks after a few episodes.

So much hate in this fandom. lol

    Well that sucks
Lets hope ripclaw and grimwing appear as new models (although i'd prefer grimlock and ultra magnus instead)

I still hope that Hasbro is making season 3 more than 14 episodes. Why open up a can of worms and disappoint the fans???????

Don't worry too much I am sure the next show will be a sequal to Prime

They are not going to let the best Transformer show to date fade into memory.

Try watching any show on Cartoon Network that the execs clearly don't want to show ...

I'd cancel it too. I'm tired of the "no more than five" characters per series. And really what Deceptions have there been in the past two TV shows outside of Megatron, SS and SW? Hardly any to even remember or care about. Where are the seekers, the coneheads, reflector, etc? If they do another TF series I hope they start including more and more people. Get back to the G1 stuff, give us some depth!

Three seasons seems like a decent run for this show. It always seemed a little smaller in scope than the other recent series. Of course, with all the new stuff that's being attempted this season, I may well change my mind after it's over.

The end of Prime won't hit me nearly as hard as Animated's end but it will still suck, I enjoyed the show very much. Alas, with a new movie always comes the death of the current series.

I have hopes in the new movie that the designs will be much more pleasing to my eyes, less twisted metal and more armoured warriors without exposed everythings. I also hope that the new show will be based on the new movie, thinkthe Clone wars series to Star Wars. If this is the case then we can at least look forward to the show being on the air for more than 3 seasons. (poor ratings not being considered)

I really hope those people in Hasbro's Media Department getting paid those big bucks actually get a clue and coincide their Film and Television ventures. Up until now they seem to be acting like chickens with their heads cut off.

I thought the movie was an entity of it's own, rather than would-be episodes edited together...?
Try being a Thundercats fan...One great season just to end it for no effing reason...

I know certain continuities went beyond three if you combine multiple series together (the Beast Era went, what, five seasons, between Wars and Machines...then there's the Unicron Trilogy) but that continues the trend of no US Transformers cartoon lasting past a third season with the technical exception of G1 itself (and that was a whopping three or four episodes for "Season 4").

I'm curious to see if the next cartoon is in the same universe (Hasbro talking before of wanting one main continuity to work from) and which characters transition over, if any, but that's getting well ahead of things.

Well, better to know that you're working towards an ending than not. And I get the impression the writers knew that they were.

Whereas with Young Justice, it's becoming painfully obvious that they're seeding Apokalips/New Genesis elements for a third season that will never happen.

Try Lockdown and Lugnut, those two are pretty damned popular, and new additions to the Decepticon lineup, and from Animated.

If there's any 'standout' new character in the D-cons it's Knockout (for the right reasons) and Airachnid (for the wrong reasons). Both Prime and Animated introduced new, memorable Decepticons. Animated only had SW in two? episodes, so hardly a major focus.

I truly hope that S3 of Prime turns around the nay-sayers (which I include myself with). The animation is top-notch, voice casting great. It's only the writing/plotlines that are killing the show. Whatever show that follows Prime will still be in the aligned continuity anyway so it's not rebooting the whole continuity over again.
