There's a popular Lego-styled construction system in Japan called Diablock, which does all that Kre-O does and more. Diablock made some sets for TF Animated as well as a G1 Optimus Prime set, and those ones I believe could transform without being disassembled. Got some information on those in our Resources if you want to take a looksie: Other Transformers Building Sets Toys - Kre-O & Built to Rule - TFW2005
A quick google search tells me they get Lego to some extent. I don't know how popular it is, but they have gotten exclusives in the past, like this beauty: Peeron: Honda Promotional Set (#1237-1)
The Japanese will probably laugh at the kreo designs and replace them with something way way better. I mean check the images which come out when you Google "japanese lego mecha".
Not only do they have it, as of 2010 it was distributed by TakaraTomy! I don't know if that's changed since though.
I wonder if takara tomy are gonna do fishing line animations with these. I know it probably won't happen but it would be funny if it did.
