So is Shockwave too generic for Hasbro to keep using?

I notice he's called DECEPTICON SHOCKWAVE there.

Trademark reasons. You can't trademark the word "Shockwave" since it's a generic term. Same goes for characters like Ratchet and Jazz.

Did they not trademark it for Animated and DOTM? Both toys had "TM" next to their name.

Thanks for sharing it should be interesting to see how the autobots "adopt" toward Predacon/Predaking.

So, when does the new BH 'toon start? Because I'm eager to have something else show up in my DVR list other than old Prime episodes... that I already have on Blu. :)

Also, I wonder if the mini-story episodes listed on each of the BH transforming instructions are meant to act as a prequel for the show or if this will instead play out in the show just like in these stories. Suites me fine either way. Also, it will be interesting to see how the Predacon faction begins to quickly divide on the show, as the mini-stories mention that (for instance) Lazerback fractured from the Predacon's fairly early. So... guess the Predacon's won't be so united under Predaking after all.

Eh, I've never liked beastformers, can't imagine I'll start because of this.

No biggie. Hopefully the show stays fun to watch. *shrugs*

Cool. Hopefully we'll get more than just Predaking; they said that there'd be more in the toyline than in the show, but given that they're trying to have over a dozen different predacons, I'm hoping for at least Grimwing (so the Autobots get one), Lazerback and Ripclaw. Just those four and I'll be happy.

Nice, if there are 2 movies coming out (Straight to DVD and Made for TV if I read the Press Release Right) That'll be like 4-6 episodes of content, makes a little more sense why the cut back on the seasons length.

It is interesting that "Predacons Rising" is coming out in October, to me this implies that the Predacons will be coming into the show later in the season, so maybe we'll have a while with just the Decepticons trying to find the autobots, and some time for character focused episodes with each Autobot trying to elude the Decepticons, until they bring in the Preds to hunt them.

That's all speculation of course, but it'd be awesome.

Oh, and I'd love for the movie to include the return of Prime, not that I want him back, but that it'd mean he'd be gone for most of the season.

Nah, I'll just enjoy the fact that the toys are starting to become decent (Baring BW Megatron) and lose all hope for cartoons.

He might be. Just a tad. Hard to tell.

    Back on track...

This is a really big push for a new TF line, and it looks pretty awesome. This is bringing huge attention to the new series, and I get an "epic story" vibe to it. I don't care for the toys, but the TV series has me hooked. I wonder if the movie will be the first two or three episodes of the season.

It's obviously to distinguish this one from any relevant version of Shockwave they plan on using in other lines to come.

TFA got two movies. Both the premiere and TRANSWARPED were written as movies, the premiere even being separate from the season itself production and budget wise.

Yeah; this is why I was curious. Unless the trademark wasn't able to get registered as SHOCKWAVE, but they WERE able to get DECEPTICON SHOCKWAVE as a registered trademark. Going forward he is becoming one of the big names in Transformers fiction again, so it makes sense they'd want the stronger protection.

All speculation on my part though.

As for this TV movie, it's probably just a multiparter that they're going to air all as one episode. Like how the Unicron event was done in such a way to work as a single TV movie.

"an unprecedented new foe" is meant to say "an unprecedented new force"

"Predacons Rising" is likely the name of a group of episodes similar to "Darkness rising" mini-series

I have a feeling the 'TV Movie' will probably just be the wrap up to Beast Hunters. With the episodes being centered on the Predacons and them being defeated in the final few episodes. The 'TV Movie' will probably just be the final battle between the leaders of the Autobots and the Decepticons (depending if Predaking kills Megatron - which could happen...)

The fact the 'TV Movie event is stated as happening 'later in the year' leads me to believe that Series 3 will end on some cliff hanger with either Predaking or Megatron's death and leave the surviving member to lead both the Predacons and the Decepticons.

I really dislike that they are starting to call characters things along the lines of 'Decepticon Shockwave' it makes him seem more generic in my opinion.

As for the toyline, the only toys that interest me at all are Ultimate Predaking, Shockwave and the female predacon with the claw weapon.
