I hear ya. They actually air TF:p  here in Cartoon Network, but it's useless trying to follow it as they air it at the most stupid times, often inconsistently. I love some of their shows but CN can be pretty shitty.

    you gotta be kidding.

    Same here.
Might be why they are changing the format & designs to Beast Hunters.

Sorry dude. But with the toy revealed and Optimus pretty much the poster boy for Transformers: Prime, you would have known one-way-or-the-other. :)

    That not everyone gets

Not really. It's more Animated (and simpler) than Movie.

    Bad economy.

interesting stuff. I'd love some more detail about that Chinese Transformers series. There is little doubt that if the figures are up to snuff some will be imported by our members.

as for that chart I'd love to see a comparison of all the various lines in the history of Transformers, would be interesting to see just how mad the g2era stuff sold and how G1 compares to all that followed.

Not to mention that said episode aired months ago and isn't really considered a spoiler.

Not really. The 2007 movie line was getting NEW repaints for the first several months of 2008; with DOTM it was all unsold product.

Recall that for Hasbro, sales aren't customer purchases, but RETAILER purchases. All those DOTM toys that sold in 2012 weren't sales for Hasbro because they weren't putting out new product at that point. Whereas with the 2007 movie toys the retailers specifically requested new movie product for 2008, so Hasbro shuffled stuff around.

With that in mind, I'd say that TF sales in 2012 were actually hurt by 2011's sales, given how much DOTM stuff was clogging up pegs. Retailers ordered less product because of all the stuff that was just sitting around.

A new show? Most interesting thing from ToyFair so far. I'm interested to see the designs and any toys that might be made for it.

agreed, that chart was the coolest thing to see. are those numbers in the millions range? i didnt see it specified, but seems like TF's only making $600,000 is super low

Just to build on what Tekno's saying, 2007 was a watershed year for the brand in general. You can't just assume all the movies are created equal as far as consumer excitement. Hasbro didn't even know how crazy it was going to get. Whereas for DotM, wouldn't surprise me if that line actually undershot some of the in-house predictions of sales.

I quite like the Predacon logo shirt... I hope they make ones that are not to neckbeardy but have that logo on - I wouldn't want to be mistaken for some unspeakable creature (like a Transformers fan) by the general public - they would be shocked and horrified by that.

But I still like that logo shirt anyway even if it's a fashion disaster like all such clothing is.

    This. All fucking day... THIS!

All I get from this announcement by Hasblow is that third parties are going to be getting all of my money for the foreseeable future.

That's fine with me, as the guys creating Prime have said that the way S3 ends is the way they wanted the show to end, then that'll give TF4 the full run during 2014, which means Generations can be the sideline, instead of trying to run a movie and TV show line, plus a "fan oriented" line as well.

Look at the top of the money column. You'll see: (000) That means toss three zeros onto the end of all the numbers. So ROTF sold $600,000,000.

So wait, where was Optimus's new CGI model? Is it the one with the shield? It doesn't look like a Prime design.

That's the one. All the characters are redesigned for the new season it seems.
