I don't know about the design but the toy was FOC alright, Full Of Crap imo.

 

the springer robot mode looks nice and that's what matters to me. the heli mode looks nice too. RK does say that these are concept art for the figure. as far as astrotrain goes, i hope he resembles his G1 and isn't just some random bot using the name astrotrain. it's a shame what they did to blast off and the combaticons in the FOC line.

 

Yeah he's bigger, but if Soundwave and Grimlock are any indication then this Springer could tower over classics prime not to mention everyone in the FoC line, which imo is too big.

 

Springer & Astrotrain (& FOC Voyagers in general). MPs out of the whazoo, insecticons, Vehicons, Shockwave (and a voyager of that too iirc), Fort Max reissue etc etc.

This is what happens when Bayverse figures are not taking centre stage, clogging up the lines

HO-LEE WOW!!! If this is true FoC Springer will replace TFCC Springer, Universe 2 Springer & GDO Springer (never decided which to keep) in my Classic-verse collection.   The FoC designs fit the futuristic designs of some TF's and Springer is definitely one that I think it works for. Not sure what I'll do with a FoCing Astrotrain though. Toyfair can't get hear soon enough. Now we just need Blitzwing and Broadside as I am sure there is a Sandstorm re-deco /tool planned.

Springer needs a helicopter mode, that is more iconic for him. GDO covers that fine for me, as well as being a modern earth mode like most of the other 1986/movie/season 3 characters got in Generations. Still, FoC Springer is a definite maybe if I see him on the shelf.

No apology needed, what you should apologize for is the whole FOC line thus far. I had high hopes for Grimlock until I saw his puny Dino mode that doesn't even have a chest, The jury is still out on these but I will gladly take movie stuff over what has been but out so far in the FOC line. Kinda nice, it saves me money at least. Hell, my 8yo doesn't even like the stuff and he's part of Hasbro's target audience.

 

they should have felt it from first 3rd party figure being released how it took four years realize this springer looks like he does in picture he will be hard find for trans fans out there

 

Oh man I forgot all about Astrotrain that drawing looks awesome, this is a good day to me, I hope these two turn out to be beast. I wouldn't mind if they brought out a WFC Arcee to accompany Springr.

Eh not really going to get excited for these until I see actual figure pics. Made that mistake with Grimlock and got burned.

 

Looking through the 'lost concepts' section in the Art of Fall of Cybertron book I was curious if we'd ever see any of those character designs made into figures. Guess I now have my answer. I'm still waiting for FOC Drag Strip though Hasbro. Get on that.
