Hasbro Masterpiece Soundwave
Masterpiece Soundwave is the Hasbro version, June/July at ToysRUs Australia, for AU$150 (in a giant blue box that looks like Soundwave's cassette-player mode).
Since the price here is the same as MP Optimus, expect Soundwave to be about the same price as Optimus in America, and out at about the same time.
(the AU$ price and packaging prove that it isn't the TakaraTomy version)

That's $20 more than Thundercracker was last year in Australia, so perhaps it might see a price rise in America as well.

Do MP toys cost less in Australia than in Japan? If so, I might consider getting this.

If the TRU commitment to that MP is the same as it was for MP 10, I shudder to think about it.

 

I wouldn't want to wait for two long years to be able to get mine, that's all.

Yeah, never once seen Prime in TRU. Might as well forget ever seeing Soundwave if Hasbro still deals with them after this f up.

I can't help but feel that the large size of the packaging to account for the trailer was a major contributor. Bigger the package, the less Hasbro is able to pack per case and ship out. And take orders on from TRUs in the first place. Including the trailer may have screwed the pooch.

Wonder if all the people that were so vehemently defending it's inclusion would still feel that way if it turns out that may very well be a large part of the reason for MP-10's lack of retail presense?

Although I must say, the do sell TFs at local cuck-e-cheeses! not exclusive masterpieces, however.

 

Yes I am,  it was one of the prizes but I just told the lady if I could use cash instead of tickets so I got it for $13.

Just to make sure this is true we should all contact hasbro.

 

I only saw mp 10 at tru once, and they must had just put them out because they had 2 on the shelf. I was in just a could days before the week of thanksgiving no sign of it, no shelf space no tag. When I found it it was a few days after thanksgiving, a space cleared with a tag for it so I picked one up knowing I wouldn't get another chance. I go in a few days later christmas shopping wondering if I was right in getting mine when I had the chance, sure enough I was 2nd one was gone shelf space filled, and tag pulled. Haven't seen another since, if I hadn't gone in the day I did I never would've known they had it.

 

No joke, never once seen one in the stores. In my general area, there is three TRU stores and not once have I ever seen a tag for the figure at any of them. I would of thought as it got closer to Dec 25th, the figures might show up. Nope, all I ever saw was Thundercracker at all of them.

I can only dread what Soundwave would be like.
