Hasbro Australia has distributed Takara-Tomy Masterpieces in the past (Ultra Magnus, Ghost Starscream); this may be only that.

 

Rumor or not, it's still not out of the realm of possibilities that we could see a Hasbro release in the States late this Summer exclusive to TRU. That means it will be about half as expensive but 32 times harder to find.

It should be the Hasbro version (ToysRUs here always gets in the Hasbro versions if there is a Hasbro version - they only got in the JP Ghost Starscream because it wasn't released by Hasbro). The other two JP Masterpiece toys to be released in Australia were at Target.

I might be able to verify which version it is later today.

 

Hopefully for once i can actually get my hands on a Masterpiece figure. Especially Soundwave. I saw optibotimus's review and now i want him.

by them saying 'line' it could indicate two issues, one of MP Soundwave, and one of his cassettes.

The term "line" used by distributors can be different to how we use it.
We will sometimes use it to refer to an entire series. (a line of toys - which distributors call a "range" )
So they will often use "line" to refer to one line on a database listing (a specific item or size-class) of various products available to retailers. (on the order form that gives details like pricing, release date and units per master carton)

This is how I interpreted that Hasbro email, anyway.
It'd be nice if there was a range of releases to go with Soundwave at the same time though.

Yes. That's exactly what is happening.

Hasbro is releasing Soundwave with 3 cassettes and the other two as a two pack as everybody knows. It is an Australia/Germany exclusive and will ONLY be sold at select ToysRus and Chuck e cheeses in those two countries ONLY.

It also comes with a Hasbro-exclusive MP Ratbat that you can't get anywhere else. It was shown in the recent Bolivia Toy Fair event. The pictures were taken down.

 

Hope it doesnt turn into another mishandled tru exclusive mess. Where they can't fill their own online pre orders, and you're lucky if you can find it in a store.

There is no way in hell Has/Tak, would make an MP Ratbat just for 2 places. that would be a wasted opportunity for money both in the states and in Japan.
