I love how the mock up of Safety Prime has the Super GT and "Safety Car" markings hand drawn with markers.

On a semi-related note, Figure King no. 180 is out and according to machine translations Generations Sideswipe comes with both his gun and Jazz's as the photos show. Also it mentions that GT-R Maximus has a different head than the illustrations that have been published (which would explain why he is no longer #3). I wonder when we'll see Fortress Maximus's head, as I don't believe the magazine shows it (according to the translated summary it's only mentioned in the text).

Why use Legends Prowl as the mock up and new art that looks a lot like Prowl to promote a character that is a version of Prime?

 

 

If that's TTomy way of slapping the name Prime over any bot/transformer character and expect me to purchase it, they can kiss me feet. I would've have no issue if it was labeled as Smokestreak, Bluestreak, but as Prime? Easily pass.

 

I'd presume it's similar to the Cybertron Satellite Primes - many Legion/Legend size-class figures encompassing all sorts of characters, re-imagined as area-specific Primes.

 

Megatron looks pretty cool. Still waiting for Wheeljack, I mean "Fort Max". XD

Although I happen to love Alternity Megatron, I really can't form an opinion on this until they release a picture of the actual toy. I'm disappointed they posted this in the magazine without any new images (we've seen this before a month or so ago).

I do find the art promising though...

 

As much as these guys are cool (I'll probably cave and get Saber for sure), it's really hard to keep my excitement up if this line is literally going to be nothing but minor remolds of one toy.

If weren't for the fact that it's in the title of the thread I wouldn't have know that was Megatron. Other then the face that doesn't really scream Megatron to me.

Liking Safety Prime though. Although thanks to that I can't get The Safety Dance out of my head now.

 

Using GTR mold for Megatron? I rather they use the Fairlady mold for Megatron

 

I think they are all the same car - not sure if that means it's a one make race formula or they are just being a bit cheap though.

If you Google the car make I notice some of the other cars of the same make have colours very useful for things like Toxitron/Decepticharge/Legion Dragstrip (i.e there is a yellow car).

So I hope they don't waste that on Bumblebee (bet they do though).

That Safety car idea would work quite well applied to the old Ultra Magnus Alternity mould - though they could give it a Prowl head too just for giggles.

It might even fit in the with the idea of Binaltech Prowl having a disguiseable outer skin paint layer too. as it could then be another cosmetic change to Prowl so he can go under cover like the Blue Prowl was.

Though personally I've often wondered if instead it might make more sense to come up with new characters for Blue Prowl or Agent Jazz instead. as I know a lot of people see Bluestreak as disguise Smokescreen. but as there is already an existing Silverstreak there might be another option there too as if it's Smokescreen or Bluestreak to you it's still a potential waste of a possible character. though I always liked the idea of that being a disguised Smokescreen as a leader of 4 minions that are decorated like the 4 Rally cars that would act like his personal Auto troopers.

Alternatively Safety Prime could be seen as Streetwise. (If you don't want it to be a new Character or Prowl).

The old Alternity Ultra Magnus mould screamed Prowl though to me.
