That Smokescreen is smokin'. I am totally buying him when he's released

no just no. BH Smokescreen is pretty bad, IMHO.

 

It costs three times the Hasbro versions for us the buyers.

Takara didn't waste 1/4 of what Hasbro used both in money and effort for a completely new mold.

 

Wow this line just keeps getting more craptastic by the minute. Man i hope they have another line out at the same time so i have something to buy. I seen a lot of BH at TRU yesterday and they are garbage. Hardshell would probably be the only Prime figure i get unless they release Shockwave, smokescreen isnt bad but that armor would be going right in the trash with the packaging.

 

Smokescreen will be a must...once he's released locally. I'm still on the fence about Bulkhead though. I really like the look of the mold, but I'm not particularly a fan of this color scheme. Part of me wants to wait and see how the mold will be repainted, but another part of me doesn't want to miss the ship on this if the repaint sucks, or they don't choose to repaint him at all. That said, once I see him in-person that might seal the deal either way. If I get him, I'll probably rename him, and I've got a list of nine different names to choose from... 

 

Smokescreen actually looks pretty good. He may tempt me (at least if I ever see him in stores, which I won't count on). Bulkhead looks like a cheap, Scout-sized (or smaller) piece of crap.

 

...yup. Im sure Im only one of the few, but those guys look horrible to me. It just makes me think Hasbro is bored or something. "Lets just take these molds and slap a bunch of extra crap/pointy things on them and call it a day." said Hasbro

Just reinforces why I only buy certain guys and why my transformers collection isnt that big.

bulkhead is big deluxe sized vehicle mode and normal sized in robot mode, so it is nothing near scout or even actual "normal" deluxe sized figure

 

and when someone said takara arms micron smokescreen looked cheap he wasnt talking about the price, he refered to the lack of any real paint every detail is just a sticker and everything else is just the plastic color and it just have only two colors white and black and just the red details on the head, nothing more, so that make it look really cheap

 

By the way, Peaugh posted a vid review of the new Deluxe BH Bulkhead, so there's some really nice, clear views of the figure in both modes and its transformation:

many are complaining about the whay bulkhead arms are molded but i can remember MANY figures that have the same arm "problem" and that nobody really cares about that

 

I'm sure I can mention Legends toys at this juncture if I wanted to bleed sarcasm.
I'm more anoyed by poorly implemented powerizer weapons and things like cars with 8 wheels and unpainted wheelhubs than a size reduction - as I just recall the size has changed several times beast wars ones were often a little smaller Energon ones were bigger and now they have just got a little smaller again - the only ones that borders on scout size really is Knockout & Generations FOC Brawl. and in reality they re not significantly different in size to RID Sideburn.

He's actually bigger than Ratchet and taller than Voyager Optimus Prime in vehicle mode. and only half a head shorter than bumblebee in robot mode. so no he's not tiny especially he might look smaller near Jackie as Jackie has big wings in both modes - but he's not tiny at all really ;Unless you are comparing him to a Rescuebot/Playskool Gobot or an Energon Deluxe that is.

 

Bulkhead makes for a good Brawn or mini-Roadbuster. He's bought.

Smokes will fill the show cast, of course, but he's not without flaws, especially the arm and shin kibble, strange color paint app choices, and fake chest. A little DIY painting and hopefully some Reprolabels will make him look more accurate. I still like my kitbashed AM Smokescreen so he'll probably go into my Wreckers display as Bluestreak or something.

Whats with the Geordi Laforge Visor on Bulkhead? I like the vehicle but the bot looks dumbed down compared to previous versions. Armadillo Bulky. HMMM..not sure on this one yet. Anyone know if any of these actually make it into the show? I don't see it personally seeing how the producers have stated that the models are not cheap to make and some of these are complete over hauls. Plus it looks like Arcee and Ratchet are not destined to get a make over.
