Honestly the movie line need to have LESS character from previous movies and more new ones. Kids didn't age that much between them they already have an Optimus or a Bumblebee or a Racthet.

Plus there are the Prime toys that look similar enought to pass as movie toys so kids simply won't buy more Bumblebee's or Primes. Get the toys of new guys, or give the characters some masive re-designs!

If we are getting IDW Prime, then IDW Wreckers are a MUST. I mean, we're already getting Ruination, why not throw in a Rotorstorm and Pyro for good measure (I know, wishful thinking)?

Although I agree, there's still going to be a new Bumblebee and Optimus in the 4th film line. Whether people like it or not they've become the figure heads of the franchise.
It's like whenever there's a new Batman line, there's always going to be a billion new Batman figures.

It would be nice to see the generations line continue its classics direction by developing more target and eventually head masters that pilot their own vehicles. Hey this does look very promising indeed.

The movie line really does not need more than 4 or 6 toys. Most of the robots don't even have lines and you completely forget about them. Why would anyone buy toys of them? The movies might be successful, but people remember only those who did something to remember. And only those are interesting to receive toys. When I watch a Batman movie I want only toys from Batman, the Joker and probably the Batmobile, Batwing, etc. They can't sell so much toys with a movie, compared to a tv series. Only die hard freaks buy all the movie toys of every obscure character that did something in the background or never even appeared in the movie.

As for Generations. Maybe the FOC toys were just so small, so that they could save money for the other Generations toys and still get some toys out for the game as a bonus. Characters like Grimlock and Shockwave are not that short as for example Jazz and Optimus. And those characters are important for Generations and Transformers Prime as well.

So I can hope that maybe this was a way to please people to get more cybertronian toys while still having the resources for the major slots in the Generations line.

Anyway, I actually don't care how they do it, they just have to do it. Don't make them so small and give them more paint apps. If there are too few paint apps, I buy the Takara version.

Sheesh dude, you do realize Transformers toys are mainly made for kids, right?
ROTF toys were awesome, but some were definitely too complex and fiddly for the target audience. I love me some intricate transformations, but if your product takes 10 minutes to tranform and just leave kids frustrated, they stop buying it.

But good job on calling people ******s and showing what a man-child you are! Classy!

I'm not so sure about it. ROTF line was fantastic but DOTM was a pretty big leap backwards.

Although I would probably hate ROTF toys as a kid. It still takes me 15 minutes to transform Leader Optimus, which means it would take me DAYS to do it as a kid.

It refers mainly to a miniseries called Last Stand of the Wreckers, featuring the Wreckers battling Overlord. Most of the standout characters were new recruits like Pyro, Rotorstorm, Guzzle, and Ironfist, however the group also includes Springer, Impactor, Kup, Perceptor, Top Spin, Twin, Twist, Roadbuster, and a few others. None of them besides Perceptor, Kup, and arguably Guzzle and Springer have gotten a decent update since their G1 toys, but Guzzle's is a movie toy so it doesnt really match the Classics G1 aesthetic and Springer is just a remold.

That will be cool if this is indeed a new Generations Optimus Prime. Can't wait to see toy fair this year.
