Public eye? From the movies' profits and just from being around anyone in general, the view of TFs to the public eye is the same as it's always been, or even better. It's gone from 'oh those robots from that funny 80s cartoon?' to 'those big robots slugging it out in the movies?' THe only people that really see it as a joke are those who are alreayd involved in the fandom, part of which doesn't really see it as a joke. Public eye seems like a term that more addresses the wider audiences, who clearly like what they are getting. Anyways, if it's a trilogy with a planned out story, I hope Bee is written out (gone to live with Sam and Carly) and makes an appearance in the third movie of the trilogy, having to choose to help his Autobot friends instead of staying with his human ally. Story wise, things'll be complicated--since even if the cons come back or we get a new enemy, we already had an INVASION...can't really top that. Long story short: DOTM was already up there in terms of OH CRAP, IT"S SERIOUS stuff... what else can TF4 do to make things even MORE dangerous for the autobots?
Actually i'm beginning to think that because Bay tried to say TF4 would'nt happen has turned off most fans and thus the fourth film may not prefer as well as DOTM. Plus they are replacing almost all the human cast... it may have an effect.
Rather glad it's not a reboot, not that I bought into that in the first place. So sick and tired of Hollywood and the constant rebooting.
That's kind of part of the problem. Because the films are awful...They just are. And that's coming from someone who originally started out as a huge fan of the first film and a failed apologist for ROTF. The mojority of the public see these films as nothing more then mindless garbage. And as such, so do they see Transformers as a whole. Say for those who do know of what came before. I mentioned the NC review, there's actually a joke in that vid in where Optimus' angent is reassuring him that the films are popular, to which Optimus replies: "So is Jersey Shore." I've never seen that. I've seen just as much people in and out of the fandom who like and hate the films. But mostly hate.
^See, the problem with most of the "Most of the people I know hate/love them..."-argument is that, well, save for conducting a worldwide survey, people are basing the public's opinion of these films on the handful of people they encounter. For example, I've talked to eight people I work with about the movies. 6/8 of them "love" the movies, one of them "hates" them and the other was mixed. Therefore, "most of the people I know love the movies". But spending time on this site would prove the opposite, since 50% of the members here don't like the movies. It's a difficult thing to try and gauge. The rage will be delicious. I'll bring the popcorn, you bring the chairs, okay? We can always hope... It would definitely be awesome if TF4 ended like that (personally, I felt that RotF should've ended like that...). And with any luck, Bay would take back-seat as producer and the new director would totally follow up the fourth one with something great. And a new generation of 'haterz'. "The battle amongst the fandom is over...but the war has just begun."

This movie is going in a different direction. The explosions will now contain more kerosene as opposed to gasoline and all of the fake breasts will be augmented with saline as instead of silicone. Totally different direction here people.
I'm glad to see that my favorite franchise of all time is going to end up with 6 movies apparently, since you know, usually the only film series' that get more than three are super, mega, ultra popular, like Star Wars. What? Granny Jetfire?
Im happy to hear we will ahve 3 more movies. I enjoyed the movies greatly. I was a long time fan before the movies but it lost its spart along the way. These movies resurected its interest for me and millions more in the world. I dont care who films them. They are all good popcorn movies to kick back and enjoy. People just gotta stop bitching lol. Money figures tell the true story. The complainers dont need to see it so stay home, dont see it and stop crying.
A new trilogy. My God. Wasn't George Lucas' new trilogy bad enough. This is like Activision beating the Guitar Hero cow till it was done...
That'd be a viable argument if it were not for the fact the in the end the films are just politically offensive. And when you got that mark aginst you, nothing else maters. Took me awhile to except that too. So I'm sure you'll just call me a h8tor troll or something. You have to really be socially ignorant to not realize Bay is one of the most hated people in entertainment right now. He embodies everything that is wrong with Hollywood. Whenever someone refers to Hollywood as some kind of ambiguous negative entity, Bay is that entity in human form. The Tf films lot in life are to be looked back upon as horrible embarrassments of entertainment. Much like other hisorically bad films like Independence Day, Water World, and Battlefield Earth. And here, I'll save all the movie fans the trouble of replying me: " omg stfu hater. Stop being a troll!"
Agreed. The last thing I want them to do is start over yet again with another boring origin story and all the dead characters coming back to life. As much as I think the movies are terrible, at least there is some advancement in a story and cast.
I'd never tell anyone that because I truly don't care what anyone else thinks of them, or Bay. I will say, though, that the level of hyperbole in your last few posts is actually making me lol.
Well, sounds like Bay lied and he's going to be around for a while. Who'd have thought? Wait, he plans on explaining why there's a different cast. If that isn't bayshit then that's one of the good signs I've been looking for. Although, I expect he's only talking about Sam and Carly and there will be no explanation for he Bots.
or maybe Hasbro forced him to do more films, keep in mind bay at first didnt wanted to do more tf films, but hasbro wanted another and everyone wanted Bay to do it. or its also possible he doesnt want anyone to mess up his continuity, as he said that was another reason for why he did another
