Jack Reynor's backstory feels remisincent of most Immigrants in the 1900's comming to America. No clue how he is as an actor but his life story is cool.
Really surprised he admitted that they're making another trilogy. I wonder, if the 4th does bad not only in reviews but with box office earnings would they still make a 5th and 6th if it's not as profiting as the previous films.
More like the first movie and less like the 2 and 3rd please. More of the "classic optimus" that was prevalent in the first movie. Stop using the Decepticons and every Autobot besides bumblebee and Optimus as cannon fodder, and bring back megatron, starcream, shockwave and soundwave please.
As I alluded on the frontpage, it's a bold statement, and one that is no doubt subject to box office revenues. That being said, the last three made lots of money, as long as they keep taking RotF levels of profits, there will probably be more movies.
I've no idea how he'll turn out, so I'll reserve judgement until we see the finished product. However, I will enjoy watching the fandom freak out over: a) "Human" casting news b) Michael Bay directing TF5 & 6 c) The inevitable lament that it's not a reboot Wash, rinse, repeat...
Not a reboot? Oh thank god.... Reboot = Beast Wars in my mind, and the thought of Bay touching those characters terrified me.
Personally i feel Optimus will probably go all 'sulky' for number 4 in the way of him being tired of war and that the new male lead will convince him humans are worth saving - then optimus will return to the mass murdering psycho he is in ROTF and DOTM
Thing is, Michael Bay never said he'd be directing the other two. Just that there would be a new trilogy. He's gone on record before stating this would be his last one but he'd set things up so the next director could carry it on. That being said, he's announced each movie would be his last since DotM, yet Hasbro (perhaps rightly) believes he is the right man to coordinate the massive in-your-face battle scenes that are a staple of the franchise. So chances are they'll keep upping his fee to secure him coming back so long as the series remains profitable.
I think a lot of directors in Hollywood would say it's their last, until someone writes a large enough cheque to convince them otherwise. As long as the movies make the kind of money they have done so far, it's good news for Prime, Generations, etc, as Hasbro will be convinced that it's worth their while carrying on with TFs as a whole (movieverse or otherwise).
I'm glad that Bay is still casting unknowns in the Transformers leads, it's nice to see a fresh face in big Hollywood movies. Even though I'm opposed to the Transformers films continuing, especially after how badly they botched DOTM, I'm glad Michael Bay will be directing for continuity's and aesthetic's sake.
OFC there's going to be more movies? Would you seriously back out of making more movies after your latest iteration made ONE BILLION!? Why do you think Bay came back for yet another, despite being tired of the criticism? No doubt TF4 comes... folks either love it or hate it... Bay contemplates leaving yet again... but ofc, same thing happens as DOTM.
Given that everything in movies and games must be done in threes now and that Bey mentioned "setting it up for the next guy" I am not shocked at all that a trilogy is planned. Hopefully they can actually make it have narrative continuity this time. The three movies out now are really three independent movies (that really all tell 3 versions of a similar story). It would be cool if there was some clear framework (even minimal) was decided upon for the next three. I don't expect it, but it'd be cool. For me, I don't mind if Bay stays on for 6 films if they can refresh the robots somewhat. I do NOT see a 4th (5th if you count how similar Prime is) version of the same design Camero Bee and Peterbuilt Optimus selling too well as toys. Although that might not happen until a new director takes over (or Hasbro realizes that they've overmilked those designs).
