    I love that Lazerbeak/Buzzaw mold!

Wish I could just get those and not Rumble/Frenzy at a reasonable price.

With what Chinese factory workers are paid for how many hours they work, I can sympathize for ways.

It's not the paint. The chrome on Frenzy's chest is chipping off as if he's been scraped atop many a table.

Paint QC issues on Blue One aside...

It's still taking some getting used to seeing Buzzsaw in peach since I'm so used to the toy colors (gold) and I barely remember him from the cartoon (I had to look it up to even jar my memory that peach was used in the cartoon and this wasn't just a random color choice). It's not bad by any means, but it's something I'm going to have to remind myself about.

I do like very much that we're getting a relatively animation accurate version of Blue One for once. I'd love an animation accurate G1 reissue and Classics Scout version one-offs. I guess I hadn't looked at previous pics closely enough since I hadn't realized the MP version was coming in animation accurate colors; I'd just assumed they were sticking with the toy colors as they previously had.

Preordered mine on anime export for 2900yen before they jacked up the price to 3570yen (before shipping). Preorder was for Ravage and Rumble. Had to jump on it because if Soundwave releases in the US with tapes, it will probably be no more than two of them which means Laserbeak + either rumble/frenzy OR ravage and I wanted all of each type of tape.

Wow, where has that photo been? Much better picture. Yeah that does not look too good at all. Fingers crossed for a US release I guess, because there's no way I'm paying that stupid import price for a toy that even has a chance of ending up like that.

I definitely won't be pre-ordering them now. I'll have to wait until someone else gets them in hand before I buy them.

to me that doesn't look scratched off. It looks like it was never vacuum metalized on there correctly or a sealant is not used. Wonder if these new factories (assuming Vietnam now that China is "expensive"?) are just coming up to speed on how to do this.

THAT said, I can't wait to get soundwave and these guys. Anyone know a good touch up paint for chrome? maybe repro labels should make chromed stickers where these guys have chrome. lol.

LOVING the fact that you can store Blue & Red's weapons in Soundwave. Very nice touch.

Actually takara's MP-01's windows were perfect. A couple friends had it and I compared it to my mp-04 and got angry! haha. By the time they made MP-04, something went wonky and they were misaligned. Not sure about MP-02, but I'm assuming anything after the original MP-04 release is misaligned.

Masterpiece (or chef d'œuvre) in modern usage refers to a creation that has been given much critical praise, especially one that is considered the greatest work of a person's career or to a work of outstanding creativity, skill, or workmanship.
Originally, the term masterpiece referred to a piece of work produced by an apprentice or journeyman aspiring to become a master craftsman in the old European guild system. His fitness to qualify for guild membership was judged partially by the Masterpiece, and if he was successful, it was retained by the guild. Great care was therefore taken to produce a fine piece in whatever the craft was, whether confectionery, painting, goldsmithing, knifemaking, or many other trades. The Royal Academy in London is one institution that has acquired a fine collection of "Diploma works" as a condition of acceptance.
Originally the paper which a student needs to present in order to gain the degree of Master of Arts was also such a "Masterpiece" - i.e. a fine piece of scholarship, the particular craft in which the student sought to be admitted as a master craftsman.
The term probably derives from the Dutch "meesterstuk" (German: Meisterstück), and the form "masterstik" is recorded in English in 1579 (or in Scots, since this was from some Aberdeen guild regulations), whereas "masterpiece" is first found in 1605, already outside a guild context, in a Ben Jonson play.[1]
In modern times it is used for an exceptionally good piece of creative work[2] or the best piece of work of a particular artist or craftsman.[3]

This is what we should be seeing from Takara and this product line, not the work of some crackhead or someone who just showed up for a paycheck.

As for my concerns regarding no metal on these figures, lets just say the originals had metal to them, and they were pretty small, but appears to have better quality than this.

definitely takara have major QC problems here. this is not fun so much money invested for us to get poor paint job. no only with this but with the lambor, 3rd party are doing much better on that than takara

Glad I preordered thru BBTS - if these things show up with ONE FRIGGIN SCRATCH ANYWHERE, they're going right back. I'll take store credit, I don't care - but I'll not be hanging onto Takara's nonsense. That chrome paint app on the chest of Frenzy looks like it was applied with all the care and precision of a soccer riot. F that noise.

You guys that are worried about the worn paint on an early sample practically 3 full months before the figure's release are being pretty ridiculous.

I'm sure the majority of them will be fine.
