The more I'm looking at Smokescreen the more I think the armor is detachable the more I want it.

 

Smokescreen is the first buy from this line for me, bulkhead looks decent enough but I want neither a deluxe sized bulkhead or one that's been mad maxed.

De-armor'd Smokescreen is an obvious purchase.

Looking more at Smokescreen makes me want a Knockout repaint/remold of it. Because it would A: be a hilarious reversal and B: could actually look really good.

Might get both, Smokescreen looks good, and I don't care about Bulkhead enough to buy the Voyager version.

 

Bulkhead would make a rad brawn custom or other heavily armored bots.

as for scale, it all depends on how huge the new Optimus Prime is supposed to be on screen. Since I think it has a lot more mass.

The buzzsaw is likely a callback to the Animated leader bulkhead's weapon.

Either way its a new bulkhead toy with a bit of a roadbuster homage. Would be nice if bulkhead could give a comment choosing those colors as a tribute to the wreckers and the passing of roadbuster. But there probably won't be time for that.

Everyone is going to buy this smokescreen. Hopefully the articulation will be there for me to enjoy it. he may be missing a waist and wrist swivel. The net could have been blue cloth instead of this chunk of plastic, at least the armor has a neat design to it.

 

Potentially down with that Smokescreen, much more so than TT's admirable try at Smokeout. Head crest is gonna need some paint and that armor certainly looks removable enough, even if some tools might be required. I'm just hoping the front end of his car mode actually transforms, and isn't hidden somewhere on his ass like a butt-cape.

 

Smokes looks.... weird. And the blue on the mold seems more baby blue than the shiny metallic blue he originally has on the show. But the chest and arms do look a bit more accurate than the Knock Out mold, at least. Hopefully there is a Takara version with a better color scheme. Until then, I may just stick to my AM Smokes kitbashed custom though I might pick up BH Smokes for parts customizing.

 

I don't get why they had to paint the front of smokescreen purple like that? Couldn't they have just left it as the normal color? I mean, no regular smokescreen came out here, and he is a new mold. Give us the show accurate model first. Then change him up.

I actually wonder if the Prime characters on the show are going to change their colors, etc or if this line is just a repaint line that won't be show accurate.

 

Any idea when Smokescreen is released? I've been wanting this guy since his debut.

 

I must be in the minority, or at least in the less vocal group as I'm liking nearly everything from Beast hunters so far.
Having Smokscreen's armour come off is a great idea as he can fit with pre and post BH team Prime. And Bulkheads roadbuster paint means I can use him as another bot on my shelf.

 

For anyone else that's worried, the "armor" definitely seems to clip on the hood in the same manner as DotM Striker Optimus Prime. The blue plastic isn't even a perfect match for the blue paint on the hood.

 

The whole second wave is a buy for me.

Bulkhead will make a great Roadbuster for me, and hopefully I can put FOC Roadbuster's head on his body.
