im guessing at first view, but after the actual toy is released and show pics of it (whatever comes first) we can make sure it's a buy or not and really it mostly depends if the spiky armor is removable. but yeah, never judge a book by its cover and all that.

Smokescreen is a buy if those spikes are removable.

I'm surprised that they bothered to make a new deluxe mold for Bulkhead. It looks neat but I might repurpose it as Roadbuster.

Bulkhead being a deluxe is a shame, but doesn't look bad to me, so I'm a grabbin' 'em!

And I'm prayin' that Smokescreen's armor is removable, though I'd likely be displayin' 'em with it on.

why do people keep posting "I hope Smokescreens armor is removable" what at all about the BH line has led anyone to believe that's even a remote possibility?

    For a few reasons:
-It looks like a separate piece.
-It is mentioned as an accessory, unlike the armor of any other characters.
-The color of the armor is quite different from the front of the car where it sits.
-There seems to be a regular car front under the armor.
-The spiky bits attributed to the Beast Hunters line are concentrated solely on this seemingly removal part.

It just kind of makes sense at this point.

because if you look at him in-package, you can see the clip-on tabs at the bottom of the armor piece. In car mode, you can see it's just laying on top of the car as opposed to actually being part of the car. The tabs, more than likely, are what clip it onto the car.

For those of us not afflicted with "I don't read the thread" syndrome, it's that the armor appears to be one solid piece and it's called out on the packaging as if if it were an accessory, unlike every other Beast Hunters figure. So there's at least a possibility. Engineering-wise, it seems that even if the one "armor piece" is not designed to be removed already, it could be removed by a customizer easily without damage to the rest of the toy.

Because they're actually looking at the toy, which shows the armor draped over him in robot mode, which means those parts aren't integrated directly into the toy. If the armor was actually integrated into the toy like other beast hunter toys, then when he was transformed into robot mode, he wouldn't be wearing it like some kind of skeletal poncho. It would break up and be spread across him like the rest of his vehicle bits instead of staying in one big piece. It's also listed on the back of the box the same way any other figure's accessories are.

I don't know if anyone's mentioned this yet, but the deluxe Bulky is reminiscent of Brawn.

Which, for repurposing, means that his size is perfect.

Smokescreen is amazing. I'm just so happy we actually got a figure of him at all. The blue crest is a little weird but i see they did that because it makes him look less like Ratchet.

That Deluxe Bulkhead is great. I am loving that the 2nd wave averts copying the RID line.

Beats Hunters will a great year.

OK, who had "We'll get a Smokescreen, but it will be spiked out" in the poll threads? The idea that the stuff may be removable is a new wrinkle though.

Along with half the thread, I didn't see deluxe Bulk coming. Looks kinda fun though. I support a possible Brawn or Outback remold for that one.

Bulkhead might be bought for repainting, but that Smokescreen is plain bought. I wish he wasn't spiky, but he'll do. Hasbro has the mold, so there's a chance of a normal one some day.

EDIT: The back of Smokescreen's box says Shadow Quill ARMOR. By looking closer, there's no way in hell that isn't removable. Half the par is normal, the other spiky? No. Nice one, Hasbro!:thumbs2:

that smokescreen is miserable, that fake chest ugg

bulkhead would have at least warranted a look due to his roadbuster paint scheme, but I just noticed he has curling arms with what looks to be no wrist swivel, so I'll stick with the FE

I wonder how many people will buy that Bulkhead just to give the buzzsaw weapon to Knockout?

I really feel like I've gotta say something that's been bugging me for quite awhile.

This kind of behavior has been going on for quite awhile now, with just about every incarnation of Transformers. And it disappoints me that the TFW mod/admin staff turns a blind eye to this kind of behavior time and time again.

I mean, yeah, people are entitled to their opinions and should be free to express them, but after "expressing an opinion" for the umpteenth time in the umpteenth thread(and sometimes multiples times in the same thread, like this one), they've gone beyond simply "expressing their opinion". And they never called on it by the powers that be :/

It's why the "ignore" option was invented. I'd use it. (I did for said offender since it's pretty apparent the guy likes to troll, and not just in this thread but other ones as well.)

Yeah, pretty good chance the armor is just one solid piece that hopefully can be (easily) removed. That said, anyone think those two pieces behind the shoulders are his door wings?

Idk why but the new BH packaging makes the deluxes look like the fall of cybertron 'dwarf' deluxes.
An other thing is why in high hell did hasbro decide to make a deluxe bulkhead?!? I thing i would prefer a repaint of the previous RID votager than an out of scale deluxe!
Smokescreen looks quite good, its just a shame the fake chest ( it could be the actual front of the car just very cleverly transformed, although i doubt it) looks so horrifically flat!
Despite these complaints i will pick both up to see what i can do to improve them and also because im a sucker for 'matching' Tfs and a non beasthunter bulkhead, however in scale, would annoye far greater than any out of scale one that matched the rest of the line.
